I don't see how anyone could be that callous to find it funny that they killed themselves. People need to respect other animals' lives more than they do now. Seriously. I am quite disturbed that others have found the picture funny. It's like nobody realizes anymore that other species also have some sort of consciousness. No Death is not something to laugh at. Would you like it if I laughed at all of your pets' deaths?
Exactly, if anyone laughed at my rabbit dying I would give them some grievious bodily harm and it would not be pretty.

I don't understand this at all. The article mentioned thunderstorms, but I doubt an animal would actually commit suicide over it.

At a first glance at this topic, I thought of that horror movie "The Happening." But anywho. That's terrible.
I can't think of any reason that they'd jump...

^ I love that movie. [/spam]

Maybe the cows ate something that made them poisoned or sick and in a delusioned state they walked off the cliff. ... It sounds better than them wanting to kill themselves. I mean, the article says most of them are dairy cows, which means they get to raom pretty scenery and eat all day. To a human it might suck, but it's the average life for a cow.

It's weird how they landed, though, in a group like that. I kind of think that maybe they were scared into a stampede or something else that chased them off a cliff?

I agree.

And I've seen horses stampede during a storm - whose to say cows would be any different? I don't really have an explanation as to why so many fell. If there were only a few then I'd just say they slipped but this definitely looks like cow suicide.

Hmm. I can't say the picture is really amusing either. It's rather sad. No

The thought of cows being suicidal is, however, amusing, in a morbid sort of way. Whatever happened, I don't believe the cows intentionally killed themselves.

I say murder. Shifty

I'm sorry, but I laughed so hard when I read the title of the article.

Then I saw the pictures. Poor cows!

That reminded me of the Happening when the workers just started walking off the building.

That's horrible... I automatically thought that they had a chemical imbalance, or they were in a cult or The Happening. :shifty

^ Unsure

Cloned Swiss bovines? Sounds a little preposterous.

Just imagine what it would be like if you were just minding your own business at the bottom of that cliff when it happened.

They don't clone cows very often...
It seems only Asian scientists do that.

It could be suicide...but scientists always tend to dismiss that. I mean large populations of whales beach themselves and die.

No one, obviously. :file: At least, I hope they're not.

That was just my best guess, besides aliens and crop circles. :shifty

The Doctor.:
This reminds me far too much of that South Park episode where the cows all topped themselves.
I was just thinking that.

Makes you think though that animals really do communicate each other. From a psychological persepctive it is fascinating, still sad but fascinating none the less.

Awe, you think they would have noticed they haven't evolved yet and still don't have any wings........
But seriously now, this is a little creepy/disturbing...... First suicidal cows....No, no! Not the elephants!!!!!

This commentor on the article had it completely right.

"This just might be demon possession. The accounts in the gospels of Jesus Christ describe a scene where two men, possessed by a demons, approached Christ in the land of Gadara. The demons yelled out to Jesus: "What have we to do with you son of God? Did you come here to torment us before the appointed time?. Now there was a herd of swine a long way off from there, so they entreated Jesus saying, "If you expel us, send us forth into the swine." So Jesus said, "Go!" So they came out of the men, and entered into the swine, and the whole herd of swine "rushed over the precipice into the sea and died in the waters." I wonder if the demons are still getting their jollies in this way. It would not suprise me, wicked spirits that they are."

Because obv swine and cows are the same things.

It could be a sign or something, Apocalypse maybe?

Me and my conspiracies :shifty
I wouldn't be surprised. The solar storms' odd patterns are playing tricks with their minds? Maybe... :shifty

But yes, nature is changing for the worse. Perhaps the cows are getting confused.

Maybe it's something to do with the high altitudes.

It could be that the cows are inbreeding and they are developing a mutation which causes them to have no depth perception.

But come on people. Cows are not smart enough to realize that their life sucks for the reason that their brains are not physically capable. They simply do not have the genetic makeup to think critically.
