So there's a new leader of the country, and it's supposed to be like, the beginning of a new era...
I dunno about it all. I really liked Tony Blair! I'm kinda sad that he resigned. The media were always hounding him.

what do you lot think?

I'm open minded on Brown.
The whole affair interests me, since I've never really been interested in politics when something major like getting a new prime minister has happened.
The media coverage regarding Blair's resignation and Brown becoming prime minister was a bit over the top, though. It was like, "TONY BLAIR RESIGNS TODAY". Uh, no shit, that's all you've been talking about since May. I found it quite annoying o.o

I'm not really sad that Blair has gone, however. I don't know why, it just doesn't make me feel sad at all.

i think i feel attached to Blair because...
well, i remember the day he was elected, i was 7 years old. my mum was jumping with happiness, everyone was pleased, it was such a happy day =]

i hope this Brown bloke does something about university tuition fees, and FAST, because they keep putting the price up every year. right now it's £3000 a year. and i'm going to uni in 2009. it's scary stuff.

I think it would be naive to suggest that Gordon Brown is going to be very radical with regards to tuition fees and Iraq, I just can't see him making any changes about Iraq in particular. After all, there was that bloke on the news a few weeks ago saying that our prescence in Afghanistan will be neeeded for the next 30 years, so this is very much a long haul and not a sprint. I don't see Iraq being much different at all.

After all, he did have unprecendeted controll as Chancellor so I'm sure he's had a great deal of influence on Tony Blair's politics anyway. Nevertheless, this whole "need for change" lark sounds interesting.

It isn't a fixed rate, is it?
Tution fees vary on course and university and whether you can get a scolarship or not.

I'm just scared.

Very, very scared.

For the next election...

Cameron vs Brown (I'm disregarding The LibDems because their new leader is just...bleh)

*shudders* I think I'll vote Saxon, sure he's an alien Time Lord bent on destroying the universe but at least he doesn't pretend to be cool. *twitches*

Yes lets all vote saxon :tehe
I love your ava I watched that episode it was so funny. Ok sorry.

I don't think there will be radical changes on the major issues. I've never really been intrested in polotics but now all the headlines are
"Tony blair resigns"
"Brown, New prime minister"
I'm thinking "No shit, Sherlock!" You've been going on and on and on about it for months

the drama college/uni i'm thinking about going to is £12,000 a year and i think you have to pay £100 for an audition.
i'm not rolling in the cash, but i'll still give it a try...

A car bomb was found in Haymarket this morning. It didn't go off, explosives officers diffused it.
Nice little hitch for a new government, you know. Not exactly what you want on your second day in XD

Two car bombs in London and a flaming car being driven into Glasgow airport.
Tut tut tut.
I feel sorry for this new Home Secretary.

I think the attacks may have been timed precisely for when he was in office
You know some thing is just making me think that [/sarcasm]

Maybe.
But Glasgow is an awful long way from Whitehall.

Maybe they did it so far away from each other incase they're going to do it again and we can't guess where the next one is or something.
It was just a thought

Maybe they chose Glasgow because it would be a busy time for the Airport and Terrorist's have never really targeted Scotland before. But Gordon Brown's first weekend as Prime Minister isn't going well at all. Poor bloke.

My dads theory is that they were meant to hit london but they chickened out and then something went wrong and they ended up hitting glasgow
It said that hey saw one of them grabbing one of the others keeping in the car so...That guy must have chickened out or something
I don't know

That's even more scary... They were supposed to hit London but they chickened out and hit Glasgow instead...
That could mean for any more attacks then they could hit any city/town or something..
And yeah, he must of chickened out. Makes it all more human.

It's not that bad.
I mean, he can deal with it. It's just a new government with the same old problems, after all.

True, It just would have been better if his first weekend was a little easier.
