So I read that J.K.Rowling was answering a few fan questions, and someone asked ''Does dumbledore find true love?''
and she revealed her secret; Dumbledore is gay.

About Grindelwald and Dumbledore - they were actually smittin'. And apparently, Grindelwald broke his heart [or something of the sort] and they fought.

Surprising, right?
What do you all think of this?

I laughed my ass off.
I don't really think much about it.. I'm out of the fandom now, first of all..
And it really doesn't contribute much to the plot, except maybe why Dumbledore is so eccentric.
Oh my god, I can see some Dumbledore / Harry slash coming up. Cheese
And I bet this is going to get Harry Potter banned in even more libraries.

Wait wait, she admitted that Dumbledore is gay?
Now I have heard it all.

This really excites me, actually.

I was like wtf. She really didn't have to make him gay.
It said that chrstians didn't aproove of the book becuase it's about witchcraft or something. Rowling said that now that she admitted Dumbledore is gay, it'll give chrstians another reason to disaproove of the book. Hah.

Where did you hear this?

No offence, I just want to know how credible the source is. Maybe it's just too recent, but I hadn't heard anything about it, and it seems like something people would talk about.

It was all over yahoo news and now it's even on mibba news.
I laughted a bit and then I was all wtf. I mean I understand that this is supposed to make kids more un-homophobic and it's really ...nice of Rowling to do something like this. It's an other step for homosexuality to become something normal.

But just the fanfictions...Dumbledore was such a sweet old man I can't picture him in slash...

*cough* I knew there was something going on there... I'm actually a Grindelwald/Dumbly shipper.

I think it's fine if one of her characters is gay. Yeah, even more people will be offended by it, but the real fans will still stay true so the books that they love so much.

I'm happy Dumbledore's gay.

And about slash fanfics about it. I've come across them before now. I didn't read them though.

Same here.
J.K. Rowling is such an amazing person, considering that nobody believed in her and now look where she is, and now she's taking a risk by having a gay character.

^ Well, it wasn't really all that brave of her, was it? I mean, the series is finished. She hasn't actually put a gay character in her books at all. To have been truly risqué, she should have revealed that he's gay somewhere in the seven books.

Weeeelll, yeah, you're kind of right.
I was about to make the argument that her books may not sell as well, but it doesn't really matter, considering she's richer than the queen of England...
Though this could influence people.
For example, that Pete Wentz quote about not calling things gay, calling them shitty, got someone I know to stop using the word 'gay' as an insult, it could help in the same sort of way to help people to be more accepting.

^ She would have done a lot more for the gay community if she put it on paper...

I'm waiting for a bunch of hardcore Christians to imply that Dumbledore is gay so he must be a child molester. X_X
