How can earth be our hell?
I thought hell was supposed to be a place of utmost evil and misery.
There is some evil on earth, but still...
I mean, in terms of heaven and hell, if earth is the worst it's going to get for us, then we kind of have it pretty easy, don't we?
I believe it's Hell.
I don't feel the need to justify my beliefs.
And I'm glad it's pretty easy for you.
It isn't for some of us.
That's just the point, isn't it?
It's very easy for some people.
Some people just breeze through life...
What kind of a hell is that?
It's unequal, it doesn't make sense.
Hell is supposed to be horrific for all those who inhabit it.
We are supposed to suffer excruciatingly and have no control over it.
But on earth, we have so much control over how our life turns out.
And when you compare life on earth to the usual caricature of hell, it just doesn't seem to fit.
Hell = pain, suffering, misery...
Heaven = bliss, happiness, joy...
Earth seems to be somewhat balanced between the two.
And I didn't say anything about it being easy for me, thankyouverymuch.
Or anyone else, for that matter. I was speaking generally.
And neither did I ask you to justify your beliefs, I'm just voicing my opinions on the topic. |

I am scared shitless of death, I never want to die, I think that when we die it is just nothing. I don't want that. I can't see myself leaving my teens lol. I can only imagine myself being a teenager forever. I hope that does happen though. I want to be immortal. |

I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to think about what will happen to me after I die. I'm going to concentrate on the here and now instead of the later. I know that may sound naive of me, but the thing is, no one really knows for certain what happens to us after we die and none of us will know until we actually do die, therefor, I preffer not to spend my time thinking about something that has no definite solution.
That's just me though.

Age: 47 Gender: Male Posts: 1778 | June 9th, 2008 at 08:23pm I used to believe in reincarnation from pretty much the moment I learnt what it meant up until my thirteenth birthday. I've never believed in heaven or hell but I joke about them a lot.
This is pretty depressing but I think that when we die, we die. If you're dead, then you're dead. There's no do-over, beautiful place in the sky, fiery abyss down below. You stop working, you get buried and you rot. Eventually you're gone. That's why I believe.
But here's a nicer way to look at things - when I was really little my mom told me that when we die we become stars. And when stars go out they become angels. And angels are forever. |

Big demons sticking red-hot pokers up your arse for all eternity are probably how some people may think it is.
I don't think so.
But I love the idea of reincarnation. Who knows if it's real? |

I don't think Heaven or Hell are that visual. I think it's going to be just a state of being. You'll just feel incredibly happy or incredibly sad/in pain.
Reincarnation still makes no sense to me.
I'd be okay with non-existence after death too.
Actually I'd be okay with any kind of after life -not that anyone's asking me what I think about it. I believe that after you die you find peace. Even if it's peace in eternal sorrow, but peace.

Like someone said up there, I'd prefer not to think about it or dwell on it. I just wanna enjoy my life and not constantly think about the depressing topic of dying. |

It's just the way I was tought. Unless of course, your damned to Hell, then your united with Lucifer in enternal flames. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 8 | July 3rd, 2008 at 07:40pm I think Heaven is wishful thinking for those who feel they're doing good and a thing to make you feel better when someone dies because "they're always with you" or "looking down on you and looking after you." I think hell is more wishful thinkig that all the bad guys are going to get thier comeuppance for everything they've done in life.
I'm not sure what I think happens when you die but probably nothing... the only way you stay alive is by touching the hearts of those around you and being remembered by them (good or bad). Maybe ghosts are real because so many people see them (i have! =p althouth it was when I was young and she wasn't nice) and I have an idea that you become a ghost because you have unfinished business on earth and you have to work out what it is before you can R.I.P. ... what ever that is... |

Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 134 | July 4th, 2008 at 10:19am I wish that it was reincarnation. I just think that would be amazing, even if you didn't know that you were being reborn after each death. Just the thought of being able to live out different lives at different times sounds really fun.
But I really don't think there's anything after death. I haven't seen or experienced anything to change my mind. But I will remain open to ideas and if I find something that convinces me otherwise I will probably go with that theory.
But it's gonna happen to me eventually. I don't think I'd want to know. It would ruin the surprise. |

heaven/hell, reincarnation, ANYTHING.
i'm just afraid that after we die, nothing happens - that we just rot in the ground.
that's what scares me most about death.
not death itself, just nothing happening afterwards. ;_; |

holy cow. thats exactly how I feel. What if we just sit there and rot? but then again how would we know we were just sitting there. It's just all too confusing. |

Heaven/Hell or reincarnation most probably does.

I think we have created Heaven and Hell to make us less scared of dying and no longer existing.
Then again, no one knows and it's not like they can come back and tell us. |
