The camera I want is really cute. I'm scared it doesn't take good pictures though.

Anybody seen any reviews on the Sony Cybershot T200?

I just bought the Canon Powershot G9 - it's a point and shoot, but with manual functions.
If you're looking for a camera somewhat like a dSLR, but don't mind having a fixed lens (you can add a wide lens if you want, though), the G9 really is highly recommended.

I changed my mind.

I'm getting the Canon IXUS 960.

Anybody seen any reviews for it? Good? Bad? Otherwise?

It seemed good in the shop.

I really wish I could get a nice Canon w/ a nice extra lense, but that's like pulling a donkey out of my ass.

Waaaay too expensive...

All I have is a Nikon CoolPix digital camera.
It's limiting...just something to have fun with.
But I'd love to have a nice professional camera.

My brother in law has an old Canon EOS (something like that) he said I could borrow if I buy the film..

So maybe it'll work out.

I have the Canon Powershot A640 and it has pro settings, custom settings, presets...
It's awesome.
I bought it for $250, I don't know if that's too much...?
It's really hard to get Canon EOS film anymore - my mom used to have a film one.
She has a digital now, but yeah, it was bloody pricey.

Sure. (:

I really want to study photography in college, and instead of sticking with my crappy digital camera, I wanna upgrade to something I don't have to photoshop. Shifty

^ The A640's a really good camera, from what I've heard.
I'd definitely get it if I could.
If you want RAW functionality though, you might want to look at a G9. I know I've said it, but I love my Powershot G9. It's basically a DSLR with a fixed lens.
However, it is a bit pricier than the A640, so if you don't shoot in RAW, it's not worth it.

I'm an amateur photographer and I want to save up for a new camera. I like taking landscape pictures and anything outdoors.
Any tips on what would be a good cameras to start off with?? I can afford anything up to, i suppose €300. That would be around $450 in US dollars.
Help would be appreciated!!

^ Canon PowerShot A550?
i think that's what it's called, 7mp, and i think it cost around 160 canadian dollars.
it has a quick shutterspeed and the review screen is big.

only thing, it's not that easy to work with - but i figured it out in about 20 minutes.
