| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Ianto Jones: Exactly. If you don't eat any meat except fish, you are a pescetarian. If you don't eat any meat except poultry pollotarian. If you don't eat red meat but eat both fish and poultry, you're a pesce-pollotarian. Notice how none of these are called vegetarians. And no, I did not just make that up. I did my research. |
| pulmonary archery. Ink Slinger Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 980 | You can also get lessetarians who supposedly eat 'less meat' than most, but I honestly don't see a point in that title, as such. Who actually decides what an 'average' level of meat is? Wikipedia tells me theres a 'Flexitarian' too, which allows meat exceptions. That one confuses me slightly. Again - what's the point? XD I suppose the whole 'pollot-pesce' thing is like the 'ovo-lacto' for vegetarians. You can't go around saying your vegan if you just cut out something like eggs, so you need the correct term. To be honest, as long as you get your facts straight, there shouldn't be that many issues around what to call yourself. I mean, it's just a name. You know what you eat and why. -shrugs- |
| Torden Fanfic Fanatic Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 1308 | Vegetarians live longer, don't they? That's what I heard. I couldn't be vegan... ![]() I wouldn't last! |

| FrancyPansy Fanfic Fanatic Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 1294 | Torden: Yes vegetarians tend to live longer but it also depends on your lifestyle. If you smoke and drink like hell I am sure this doesn't enlarge your life but nothing is granted. My uncle died at the age of 50 or 51 and he never smoked, drunk or anything. He did sport everyday and tried to live healty but he got cancer.. so I don't believe in all these things anymore. ![]() |

| jacky jules. Fanfic Fanatic Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1302 | Torden: My friend tried to be vegetarian but she caved 'cause she loves ham so much. |
| Innuendo Cliché Catastrophe Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 335 | Lottie Armstrong.: How the fuck can you try being vegetarian but fail because you love ham? Oh and yeah Torden, vegetarians live longer. They live the longest after the fish eaters . But don't you go vegan. They're the last or second to last from the list of long livers. So they don't really live that much. They're not immortal anyway. ![]() Ps. Torden, I love your Zoso avatar. ![]() |
| FrancyPansy Fanfic Fanatic Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 1294 | Lottie Armstrong.: =/ Yeah I nkow it sucks, espeically cuz he left 4 kids behind. |

| Briton Grammar Guru Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 3732 | Inigo Montoya: And those are forms of vegetarianism. "Vegetarian" is a widely used word, and does not have one particular definition, though it's basis is excluding a type of meat from your diet. I'd also like to point out that although I personally rank fish, chicken, and cow, pig etc together, they aren't all meat. Fish is fish. Chicken and other birds are poultry. |
| Briton Grammar Guru Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 3732 | Innuendo: And how do you know that? |
| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Innuendo: That's almost as far from the truth as you can get. ![]() |
| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Leonore Paisley: I personally believe that it isn't that widely used and it does have one particular definition. But that's my opinion. |
| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Leonore Paisley: veg·e·tar·i·an /ˌvɛdʒɪˈtɛəriən/ Pronunciation Key - Spelled Pronunciation[vej-i-tair-ee-uhn] –noun 1.a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc. ![]() |
| Briton Grammar Guru Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 3732 | That isn't a correct definition. Vegetarian is a broad term. |
| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Leonore Paisley: veg·e·tar·i·an [ vèjjə térree ən ] noun (plural veg·e·tar·i·ans) Definition: somebody not eating meat or fish: somebody who eats vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, and usually eggs and dairy products, but not meat or fish ----- Noun vegetarian (plural vegetarians) 1. A person who does not eat animal flesh ------ Pronunciation veh jE te ri En Definition 1.one who eats no meat or fish but only vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, and the like. ----- vegetarian n. vegetarians <"vêji'têrE&n> One who eats no meat or fish noun: eater of fruits and grains and nuts; someone who eats no meat or fish ----- So you're saying all those definitions are wrong? |
| Briton Grammar Guru Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 3732 | I'm sorry, I should have rephrased my answer. They aren't wrong, but they aren't correct either. That is one definition of a vegetarian. There are other definitions, though that is the most popular idea of a vegetarian. |
| Inigo Montoya Fanfic Fanatic Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 1320 | Well if you find one website or dictionary that has your definition of vegetarianism, then I will accept it as an alternative definition, but I have done hours of research on this in the past months, and I have not once come across the definition you are referring to. |
