to me, meat is just disgusting.
i get nauseous whenever i think about it
i look at all the moo moos and oink oinks and wonder how anybody can eat such wonderful creatures....
meat is also murder and seriously...the meat industry is unbelievably cruel and inhumane. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 18639 | July 10th, 2008 at 02:02pm I'm thinking of taking the plunge or so to speak and becoming a vegetarian. My parents already make the annoying jokes about it at the dinner table because I barely eat much meat as is, but I'm thinking that I actually do want to turn to that kind of diet. So... what's it like? I sound like a complete n00b, but I'm curious as to whether or not it's difficult as a vegetarian. |

It's nothing different really. It's just harder to eat out |

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 411 | July 10th, 2008 at 08:16pm At first, it really sucked when I saw commercials for food on TV. But then thinking about the animals really made me think how gross the food was again.
After a while it really became second nature, not eating meat. I think the longer you go without it, the easier it gets. |

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 980 | July 10th, 2008 at 09:15pm ^ I agree, it definitely gets easier with time. I don't even have to think before I check the packets of things I buy now, it just happens so naturally that I don't even notice XD But eating out is always a pain...
I think it also helps that after a while you start to learn which alternatives are the best, and which you prefer personally. You can start out on some things that taste like cardboard, and you'll be like 'Why am I doing this again?' but then you'll find an alternative that you just adore.

It can get difficult sometimes, but being a vegetarian isn't hard. what's really freaking hard is being vegan [at least for me]. |
