I don't care if you're vegetarian/vegan, just don't preach to me. I was eating a ham sandwhich in class and my friend starts going off about how the pig was tortured. I told her to shut the f--- up.

I had to stop being vegetarian as of last week, cause I had a high risk of becoming aneamic, and also cause I need a varied diet because I'm diabetic.
I feel bad about it, but I guess it's gonna help my health.
I now have people saying to me "Omg, think of the animal."
I had done for about 3 years, and I still do. I just can't be one cause of my health conditions.

I hate my dad. He's always mocking my vegetarianism, I had a freind over the other day and we had bacon and pancakes. I ate pancakes and she ate both. My dad's all, "See, Catie, she's NORMAL." and started going off about how absurd being veg was.
It's REALLY starting to piss me off.

Maybe you should tell him how you feel? If you make him aware of the reasons your a vegetarian, maybe he won't mock you as much.

I agree. Talk to him and tell him your reasons. Don't let it get to you too much.

My dad was like that whenever I walked past him.
He was always like, "Jade, meat! You should eat it." It would do my head in.
Just shrug it off, and smile.
That what I done, and it pissed him off. Con

Vegetarianism is all very well, provided you're still getting enough iron, protein and calcium, etc. That's probably what you're parents are worried about. Some vegetarians become malnourished, but just make sure they see you eating a balanced diet and they'll probably get used to it. Cutting out meat isn't that bad if you can make it up with the right foods.

On the other hand, I'm anaemic, and so it would be a pretty bad idea for me to be vegetarian even if I wanted to. I like eating meat though, and I don't think that makes me a bad person. I consider myself pretty animal-loving. I buy free range eggs, and I even make sure that the bacon we get is from an organic farm, so that the pigs are kept and killed humanely and are farmed in places where the land hasn't been cleared of native forest. As far as I'm concerned, you can get the moral responsibility part down-pat without having to actually give up eating meat.

But for those who do want to be vegetarian, well, I won't judge them and I hope they don't judge me. Live and let live.

I have a question...
Are veggie burgers alright to eat, are they still considered vegetarian.
Please do not flame me for this, I am new at being vegetarian.
I assume they're alright, but I just want to make sure.

Veggie burgers are made for vegetarians. That's the point of them. Wink

They aren't necessarily vegan though, some of them include egg.

To Be Honest I think I'm eating healthier as a vegan now than I was as a veggie.

I guess changing your diet means you have to think about instead of just eating what ever was put in front of you.

And for some mad reason most people think they've justified to slag off your lifestyle even though theirs is just as bad/worse.
I can't count all the time chain smokers, alcoholics and meat purists have had a go at me for being vegan -__-

Just ignore them. You're a vegan for your own reasons, and you shouldn't have to justify them to anyone else. Cute

Bread Ingredients:
500g (3 1/3 cups) plain flour
2 tsp (7g/1 sachet) dried yeast
1 tsp salt
375mls (1 1/2 cups) lukewarm water
Extra water, for brushing
1 tsp poppy seeds, for sprinkling

What bakery do you work at?
Yes, pastry is made with eggs but bread isn't.

A Brumby's franchise. It's like Baker's Delight, but with less advertising.
I had a chat to the baker after my shift the other night and he said bread is made with milk. I also checked on the net and found recipes made with milk.
Maybe it just depends on the bread?

I guess it does. My cousin works at Bakers Delight and they don't make their bread with milk.

I work at Baker's Delight aswell - there is no milk in our bread. Unless you buy like a custard scroll or something, then there is undoubtedly going to be milk in that...

Because it's totally illegal to eat them if you aren't vegetarian. Razz
