Vegan/vegetarians

From my knowledge the Dodo was hunted to extinction, but so are plenty of other animals that are well adapted to their surroundings. It's pretty difficult adapt to human involvement.

Being vegetarian is 'in'? Oh I've seen that before. A friend of mine was vegetarian and straight edge for a while, because she went through a mad 'emo/scene' phase. Don't ask me why she stereotyped herself.

Do vegans use condoms? Most latex condoms contain the Casein protein, which is taken from milk, and most condom brands test on animals as well. And, birth control pills are tested on animals and contain lactose. You're all kind of screwed in the contraceptive department. No pun intended.

There are vegan condoms. I can't remember what the brand was, but I'll look it up and edit it into this post as soon as I find it.

Condomi condoms are severely ineffective, and the FDA won't even allow them to be imported into the US anymore because they don't meet quality standards, I'm sure they've been banned in other places as well. Glyde works well I've heard if you can actually find them, but that wouldn't solve the birth control problem.

True, I don't think there is a birth control pill that's free from both animal ingredients and animal testing. That's where a sacrifice would have to be made one way or another.

I am a vegetarian and have been for 12 years I was five when I first became a vegetarian because my parents thought that was a healthier way to live, and so far I'm very healthy and I think it's wrong to kill poor animals, and I will always be a vegetarian.

I was Vegan for some time but my friends forced me to stop because they thought it was unhealthy and I wasn't going to get my pretein, but to be honest vegan cheese isn't that great and I love my cheese.

O.o my parents want to take me to see a nutrionist. They have to spend a lot on money on this..and for what? That they will tell me "You will die without meat.." or things like "You have to eat fruits at least 5 times a day". Maybe I just have to tell him or her "Go die" XD.

I think nutritionists are usually pretty accepting about it. They could really help you, depending on their views. But if they tell you to eat meat then I suggest you give them the finger. It's what I would do.

I'm a vegetarian, and I also don't eat eggs. I'm a vegetarian because I believe that animals and humans are equal, and animals just developed differently.

I possibly want to be a vegan someday, too, but I think I just love cheese too much.

I ended up eating cheese yesterday thinking it was tofu D:

I was forced to eat meat while sick with pneumonia, but I'm back on veggie-ism.

I'm feeling healthy with these dolmates.

i'm a vegetarian. Have been for just over a year now. I did it when i went on a school trip and, thought it was fake, there was a dead pig that had been cut open and hung upside down. My friend then decided to buy a sausage roll

Anywho, i wanted to be a vegetarian for a while. Because people can live without eating meat, so why should they. I mean they wouldnt like it if they were killed just for the meat would they?

I've been a vegetarian for a little over 10 months. It'll be a year on October 13th.

I've been vegetarian for a few months, and it really isn't that hard for me, but I didn't like meat that much anyway. I'd wanted to do it for a year or two, and then over summer I just decided I'd see if I could do it, and I could.
I have no intentions of becoming vegan, though. It might be interesting for a day or a week, but after that I'd go crazy. It's just way too restricting for me (although I got these really good apple toaster pastries that I just found out are vegan), but I think it's amazing that other people can do it.

I don't think she understands that I just don't want to eat meat. It's gross. I've been a veggie since I was 11, and it's never going to change.

My brother did the same thing, until my parents gave him a big lecture about it.

My mom said that if I go vegan, I'd have to buy my own food.

One of my friends' mom did it for a month or so, but then she switched back to being a vegetarian.
When I told my mom I was vegetarian, she was like "If you become vegan, sorry but you're cooking your own food." XP
