So apparently Santa Claus isn't supposed to say, ''ho ho ho'' anymore because it degrades women and associates with prostitution.

Santa has to say, ''ha ha ha, merry Christmas!'' instead.

Link.

I personally think it's hilarious.

It's ridiculous.

People wouldn't have made a connection like that until it was brought up, and now kids in my school are making that joke.

I understand that they're trying to preserve the innocence of the tradition, but I feel like they're ruining it themselves.

Ha, ha, ha doesn't really have that ring to it.
Seriously.
In the future when we have kids we'll go, "I remember back when I was your age Santa went 'ho, ho, ho'" & they'll probably think we're on medication, e.e

Exactly.
I mean, I never thought of hookers when anyone said ''ho, ho, ho'' until it was brought up.

''ha, ha, ha''... it's just not what Santa says! Cheese

All this political correctness nowadays is getting a bit ridiculous.

It's also crazy how we aren't supposed to say, ''Baa baa black sheep...''

I mean, is nothing innocent anymore?

I think it's absolute WANK.

If some woman gets offended by a fat guy screaming ho at her, personally, I feel like shes hiding something.

Im sick of censorship, its getting stupid.
Like Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep?
There are Black Sheep and White Sheep, and coincidently, when theres a flcok of sheep, you can normally find one loner black sheep in the middle of it.

Erg. peiople need to get over it, really.

Shifty I think people overreact to these things. I mean, politically correct extremeists say things like this all the time... it doesn't change much. 99% of people are still going to say ho ho ho.

I really isn't possible to eliminate "ho ho ho" from people's vocabularies. Nobody is going to stop saying it because it is degrading.

It is taking the whole "poltically correct" thing to far and nobody is going to buy into it.

Well actually you know Santa as a red fat guy who says ''Ho, ho, ho'' is a modern invention. He appered in the states mainly after The Night Before Christmas came out and the red coat became popular after the Coca Cola comercials. He says ho,ho,ho because he is supposed to be living in the Laughing Valley of Hohaho.
In other words we created Santa's image so we can change it. I really don't think it matters if he says Ho,ho, ho or Ha, ha, ha. The spirit matters.
Tho ha, ha, ha sounds scarier.

Ah, the day's when Santa's suit was green and white.... Good times...
Saying Ho, ho, ho just sounds right, so long as it is said in the correct context and not a Snoop Dog type...

It just sucks how everything has to be so politically correct these days.
There's really no need for a lot of it.

"Ha ha ha" sounds like Santa is laughing at the children =\

I think its just better leaving it as "ho ho ho"
Most children associate it with Santa.
If it were to be changed... it could make things... awkward.

Child: Mom, why is Santa laughing at me?
Mom: He's not. Santa just says ha ha ha now.
Child: But no! Santa says ho ho ho.
Mom: Not anymore. Santa's not allowed to say ho.
Child: Why? What's wrong with ho?
Mom: It's a bad word....
Child: What's a hoe!?!

But, whatever, I doubt the law will make it that far, to be honest.

^Very lulz indeed. xD

Seriously though, what is with this political correctness?
I heard that some teachers at elementary schools in the US were told to sing, ''Ba, ba blue/green/yellow/red sheep'', or whatever, as long as it wasn't black or white. Disgust
