| Synyster Lisa Student Shakespeare Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 9429 | What's weird is, I had I think 2 separate dreams that what happened here happened to me. O.O I remember one, but I don't really remember the other. The one I do remember was that I was in one of my old neighborhoods-a townhome complex-and i was running along the outer back of the complex (the outer part is like a C shape) and I stopped to look, and I saw the monster going away...and as I kept looking, thinking I was safe, it turned and started coming towards me. So i hauled ass to cross this one street, and that was when I woke up. oh the joys of movies like that giving you weird dreams. |

She used a jacket to cover herself so to block out the lights from the movie when we were at the cinema. She asked a staff had anyone literally puke after watching it and he said yes. Someone actually puked! I find that funny but I don't know if you do or not. I think the movie is fine, but it made me a bit sick. I'm not gonna say I love how it was filmed, but it's a new way and it has it's awesomeness. I think I will watch the sequal if there's gonna be one. |

I found this movie to be horrific for many reasons. Cloverfield lacks character development, plot, and most of all an explanation. There was no plot aside from that kid having to go save his kind of, sorta girlfriend. The monster was just another add in to make it seem like there was a point. Also, did anyone else notice this film seemed a lot like the 9/11 films? Lower Manhattan, something destroying the city, papers and debris flying everywhere. They had to hide in stores to escape the debris and this was all done by a handheld video camera. I really think that the director just looked at some 9/11 videos and said "Let's do that but add in a huge ass monster." The plot, or lack there of, was completely redundant and tiring. Not to mention, a lot of it was unrealistic. May I ask, how can someone survive a pole being right next to their heart for a good hour or two? The whole thing with the military was very overdone. They never explained why the girl blew up or why she was such a threat. *shrugs* Cloverfield is a very irritating movie in my opinion and it gave me a headache. Just my thoughts. |
| dramamine Ink Slinger Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 863 | I haven't seen it yet but everytime this guy in my Geography class speaks to me he tells me I look like a girl that gets blown up or eaten by a spider or something in Cloverfield. O_o |
| Synyster Lisa Student Shakespeare Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 9429 | Not sure, I couldn't really tell by your picures. But there is a girl that gets attacked by this parasite thing, and she either like exploded from the parasite bite, or soehing likethat.... |
| KeroseneKassy;; Writer's Block Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 4 | this movie is freakin awesome. I went to see it twice in theaters. I loved it. They might be making a second one. It's in the works. |
| Lovesick Melody. Writer's Block Age: 87 Gender: Female Posts: 95 | I liked it, I saw it about a month ago but it was brilliant. The only thing I did not like was the lack of a reason. Why was the monster there? It was just like the producers pitched their idea like "And then there is this monster and it starts to tear up the whole city and-" "Where does this monster come from?" "*shrugs*" At least thats how I imagine it 0_0 |
| Crookshanks Amateur Author Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 258 | I really liked that movie, but I did feel like some things were left completely unexplained. But that made it even more awesome, since it left you wondering. The only part I thought was really stupid was how when they went to rescue that girl, Beth, they had to pull like a pole out of her chest that was IMPALING her...and she was still able to climb across the buildings and run through the streets. I just didn't get that; I was so sure she was going to bleed to death. The plot wasn't really all that developed, but I liked the explosions. Oh yeah, and I also liked when the military people blew up that girl that got bitten by the freaky-spider thing. That was cool |
| ChemicallyImbalanced Wordsmith Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 10207 | SnowyWolf: I must say i completley agree with you. It lacked a heap of stuff. I was very disappointed with it. I didn't like the ending, I thought they could have at least made it a bit better. I mean yes, they did leave it open so that if they made enough money they could do a sequel but I thought they could have done better. |
| Page 27 Fanfic Fanatic Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 2266 | I just saw this last night, and I loved it. A lot of people told me they didn't like it and it was stupid and stuff, but I really enjoyed it. The little parasite things freaked the hell out of me though. I was all fine and dandy until they attacked them in the subway tunnel. Then I was a bit creeped out. Lovesick Melody.: At the very end when Beth and Rob are on the ferris wheel. all the way to the right you can see this itty bitty black thing fall into the water. So I'm guessing that's the monster...and it came from the sky or something...? |
| fool's paradise AWOL Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 839 | I really want to see it, it sounds very intruiging. |
| empress.of.dirt Writer's Block Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 51 | I liked it.*shrugs* The part where they just pulled Beth off of the pole and she was running through the streets about 38227492 times faster than Hud confised me just a little bit :eyeroll: In one interview J.J Abrams was talking about maybe doing a sequelish type thing...except not. When they're on the Brooklyn Bridge, Hud is moving the camera around and it stops/goes by this other guy with a camera lookng at Hud (If that made sense). So the movie people were thinking about doing another film in that guy's point of view |
| Geesecks. Fanfic Fanatic Age: 22 Gender: Female Posts: 3004 | ^ I really don't think they need to do that. It would be kind of...weird. I don't know. I just think they need to leave it alone. __ I really liked this movie. I didn't think that I would. I thought it would be just like any other 'horror' movie of it's kind. I actually liked the way that it ended. It couldn't have really explained what the thing was, because the people filming the whole thing died. It wouldn't have made since for it to switch to another point of view after being filmed the way it had. Plus, if they had tried to come up with some story about what the 'monster' was, it likely would have been really cheesy. That's what ruins a lot of horror movies. |
| evil_emo_emu27 Writer's Block Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 6 | at first, my dad and I thought it was a 'what would really happen if Godzilla was in Manhattan' kind of movie but then we saw those weird creatures that fell off of the main monster . The camera work sucked for the movie. I know it was supposed to be that way but it annoys me because I think the camera people do that stuff because they have zero talent behind the camera. They left much to be wanted at the end of the movie, and ,oddly, I'm kind of hoping they do make a sequel! Bad camera work and all! |
| Synyster Lisa Student Shakespeare Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 9429 | I heard that in the movie theaters, after the credits, they explained everything. That's what my stepdad said, but it wasn'ton the DVD. And that thing with something falling during the ferris wheel scene...makes me wanna watch it now. |
| mcrmy23 Writer's Block Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 39 | i thought about seeing it, but i heard the way it is filmed makes people sick, is that true?? |
| Raven T. Fanfic Fanatic Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1931 | mcrmy23: Apparently so. For those who have the DVD. Pause and go frame by frame when the helicopter they're in is going down, when they crashed there's 3 frames of Rob and Beth at coney island and then there's one frame of a shot from the original King Kong movie. Also, that thing that falls into the ocean in the end is supposed to be part of a satellite, at leastt according to what I've read. |
| ChemicallyImbalanced Wordsmith Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 10207 | It's because in most movies the camera is steady. If you notice in some movies when the camera shakes it makes people feel dizzy or get headaches. Because all of cloverfield is on a handheld camera and it is constantly moving, a lot of people felt sick. |
| Raven T. Fanfic Fanatic Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1931 | ChemicallyImbalanced: I know. I didn't though, I got a slight headache but that's it. The second time I was fine though, but then again that was at home not a theater. Happy Birthday! |
| musetastic Writer's Block Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 32 | I loved it. Helped that I never got dizzy from it. I thought the handheld approach was very original. I liked how you don't get a history, or even answers for that matter, which leaves good speculation. Also that it's all from the victims point of view and they don't go being a stupid hero or anything. Apparently in the film there is another guy filming the whole event as well, which after reading wikiepdia speculation could lead to a sequal. The whole wikipedia page lists possible sequals. |
