Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 12783 | February 22nd, 2007 at 01:07am Woah, I think that in my opinion, there is no God. I have my reasons, I can't make up my mind but with all the shit that has been going on, I feel that there is no holy spirit looking out for me, or down upon me. I'm not religious, I never really was. I learned Hebrew and went on to be brought up Jewish but now that I have grown up and learned how to make my own decisions, I can't say I believe in God. |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 18500 | February 22nd, 2007 at 01:15am I believe that there is a higher spirit BUT I don't believe that He/She needs all the worship we give Him/Her.
I don't worship and I don't not swear or anything, but I don't think that the higher spirit, for lack of a better word, should be ridiculed, as such. I understand that some people don't believe, and that's fine, but I don't think they should rant about how "There is no God" or whatever and I DEFINITELY don't think they should ridicule other people for their opinions.
I also think people shouldn't try and convert other people because I know sometimes it's a really touchy subject. |

But I do believe in a higher power.
Something bigger and better than humans.
I respect people who are religious I think it shows a lot of self discipline.

Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 9334 | February 22nd, 2007 at 01:21am I believe in God. I believe that there is no other possible way for a lot of unexplainable things. Science is an attempt to explain the impossible. |

Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 10015 | February 22nd, 2007 at 06:06am I am kind of mixed on this.
In a way I think there is, but in a way, I also don't.
I mean, to me a lot of it seems to be something a bunch of people just got together and made up to keep people who would believe in it, in check.
I mean, there's no real, hard evidence to prove that there is, it's either believe or don't. No one knows for sure whether or not there's a heaven and hell either.
Think about this way, if the sky is supposedly heaven and underground is supposed to be hell, well we would have found those by now, I am sure.
I'm not saying I don't think he doesn't exist, because like I said, I'm pretty mixed on this.
On the other hand, science is usually used as an explanation for everything. Well, what happens when something just can't be explained? It's labelled paranormal, or extraterrestrial. And that's all fine and good, 'cause it's very well possible, but it could also be his work.
I really don't know what to believe in, so I don't give it a whole lot of thought when it comes down to deciding. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 226 | February 22nd, 2007 at 07:25am I believe that there is God. I respect others opinions and won't push mine on others. But if you do want to know anything I can try my best to explain. Like any other stereoype, people put christians as bible thumpers who do nothing but say that your going to hell and that your wrong without putting blame on themselves. Like I said stereotypes. Whats behind stereotypes? Something completely different. I as a Christian put forth my best effort to do good, (meaning at least being friendly) theres no harm in practicing christian ideals.Of course there are going to be people are are actually like that, but its something we can't help. Theres no bad in it. Thats a first sign. When you look at the bible, when it talks about how to live your life, it doesn't say 'Go ahead and kill someone for me" or "give me a sacrafice. I demand Blood!" (and if you did read it it was in the Old Testament. Which has been transformed since Christ came and died, proving his blood was suffiecient enough, stopping animal sacrafice) God is alive in Nature, when you go walking, when you look at the things in outter space. Can't you feel something if you just stop and smell the air? Sure science, I have nothing against it, but as far as trying to use it to disprove God, I completely disagree. He's my Father, my Creator, and my Friend.
Once again, if you do come across the thread and see this comment, comment me back if you completely disagree or agree. If theres just something that strikes you about it go ahead. I can try within my best effort to explain. At least I can say I tried. |

Wow... I could not have put it any better myself. I COMPLETELY agree with you. I may not be the best Christian (going to church consecutively, I curse, I'm mean to people sometimes. and I sin just like everyone else) but I DO believe in God and that Jesus died on the cross to save our souls and forgive our sins. I also try to be nice even though, at times, I can be hypocritcal (by that I mean that I'm rude sometimes) and I think that my beliefs and actions make me a Christian. Everyone always thinks that we're the evil, hypocritical, heartless homophobes when that's not always the case. I listen to "Satan's" music (rock), I have gay friends. But I don't believe that that makes me any less Christian. Our religion is about loving people for who they are. And that's what most of us do. God is real and he loves everyone. He may not approve of everyone's actions but we're all his children and he loves us unconditionally nevertheless.

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1931 | February 22nd, 2007 at 04:43pm I do believe in God. As for evolution, I believe He made it happen. I'm not sure if I believe in prophets though. But yeah.
I'm a Hindu. Contrary to what it seems like, we're actually monotheistic. God is one. Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Jains, Buddhists, Scientologists, whatever. We all pray to the same God. He may have different names and different societies have invented different forms of communicating with him and praying to him. But He's still the same.
And any place of worship is God's house and I really hate church burnings or mosque riots and stuff like that. Places of worship should be left in peace because that's where He lives. It's a place for Him and it's a place for His worshippers to be safe and peaceful. Notice how in War of the Worlds, everyone gathers in the church? In the end, we all know that God is just God. He's the same being whether you're in Timbuktu or NYC. |

I believe in that. I also don't believe that God is a conscious entity. I don't believe God has a gender. I don't believe in the Christian God; the trinity, and Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit being one God whole and entire. But I still believe Jesus existed. He just wasn't God/"the son of man". |
