Nah. Science explains more in my opinion. God seems to be not my kind if guy. Too many things are sins. I enjoy the unreal Christian ideas. I'm open to whatever anyone wants to be. But I'd say I'm agnostic. Or however you say that. xD |

| clouds and cities Fanfic Fanatic Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1144 | The bible is a book if fiction. And Religions are way too controlling. They tell you how to life your life, that's crap - you shouldn't have to devote your life to something and you shouldn't have to live by a set of rules. There's no God out there I AM FINE WITH ANYONE BELIEVEING IN GOD. I choose not to. |
| kafka. Fanfic Fanatic Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 3011 | Fluff;: Everyone from MTV to your parents don't tell you how to live your life? You're not just born knowing how to handle and what morals to chose. Your temperament is genetic, but your character is gained in time, ask any psychologist. And of course the Bible is full of absurd rules. Love thy neighbor? I know, ridiculous, isn't it? Thou shalt not kill. Wtf? What it's sometimes hard to understand is that religion, the Bible, is just a choice. I have a choice, God gives you the opportunity to choose. No-one's controlling your life or telling you what do to, you have free will, you just choose to believe in the Bible/God and try not to sin. You have a choice, you're more controlled by your political leaders and MTV than by your church. |
| Piccolo the Great Cliché Catastrophe Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 340 | no one:Amen, sister. I don't understand the "religion is controlling" argument, myself. Because for any religious person I've met, including myself, there is something there much more confusing, and yet much more correct than anything anyone could possibly feel in a different state. For those of us in that mindset, religion--and God--does not bind you, but rather sets you free. |
| Mad in the blood. Cliché Catastrophe Age: - Gender: - Posts: 542 | I'm not really sure if I believe in God. But if I did, I still wouldn't be religious. I get that most religions are about love and kindness and compassion, but I'm just not one for organized worship of any kind. I think that if God does exist, and if he/she is watching over us, then he/she=love, not anything else. |
| morning light. Ink Slinger Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 960 | I have my moments when I believe God is real. Like, when something really good happens in the world or to someone close to me. But when people around my age die, which they have a lot in the last two years, I begin to question his existence. I mean, why should someone, God, exist just to take people away at such a young age? Its not right. So basically, I was born Catholic, but now I'm Agnostic. |
| SomeGirlOnTheNet Writer's Block Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 21 | I believe in God. I suppose there's no way for me to prove it; It's something you have to figure out for yourself. But, I do think that like a parent to a child, God knows more than us and hence the simple explanation for the things that happen to us. Just throwing in my opinion. |
| clouds and cities Fanfic Fanatic Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1144 | Religion is controlling - they scare you into doing something or not doing something. They say you'll go to hell if you do or don't. |
| Kurtni O'Hara Database Error Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 3417 | no one: Is it honestly necessary for me to point out examples of absurd rules in the bible? The two you listed are a very inaccurate representation of all "rules" in the bible. |
| Missand Amateur Author Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 152 | I used to believe in god when I was really little, but as you get older you see things differently and I guess in a way I got my eyes opened a while back but was too scared to say. Now as it happens, I'm an atheist because I don't believe in any higher power. |
| clouds and cities Fanfic Fanatic Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1144 | Sisky.: Same for me. I have a friend who's had two cousins die because of cancer, and now she herself is starting to go... it just seems like there's no one out there. |
| Piccolo the Great Cliché Catastrophe Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 340 | Fluff;:These types of arguments break my heart. It's at times like these when God is most present in a person's life! I know the pain, and I know how badly you want to hurt and blame and scream to the heavens and ask why in the world this had to happen. Because we have strong feelings, and we grow attached to other human beings. That's just life, as well as a downside to death. But listen to my opinion when I say that everything happens for a reason. There is good in everything that has ever happened and ever will happen. Optimism is the key to survival. If you think that everything that doesn't go your way is automatically bad, then what have you left to hope for? If you would stop and think about those deaths, then maybe you could see something. Or perhaps it will take more time. Who's to know. My own grandfather died of lung cancer. Our family was dropped into the depths of despair, of course, but we all knew deep down that his death was a release, as well as a great relief to my mother. Cancer was the best thing that could have happened to him at that point. Otherwise, he would have eventually suffocated due to the uselessness of his lungs. And now he's become a part of family legend, and he was the single most blessed person I've ever met. How can you not believe in a God when you have something like that? |
| clouds and cities Fanfic Fanatic Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1144 | Piccolo the Great: I was born Christian, and then when my friend's two cousins died two years ago, and she died a year ago when she was only eleven, I was depressed for a long time. The only thing that's happened is almost everyone in her whole family is sick. Hoe is that good? They had their whole lives ahead of them. |
| Skitty; impaled. Cliché Catastrophe Age: 16 Gender: Male Posts: 670 | Neither of my parents are very religious, and yet they still claim to be part of a religion, regardless of the fact that I doubt they've ever prayed in their life, and they've definitely not been to church. They also 'sin' constantly. Therefore, I don't want to be a hypocrite like that. I don't believe that God is real. Sure there is 'evidence' but not enough for me to be convinced, really. I don't strongly oppose God, I'm just not sure. I'm Agnostic. |

| skank. Editor Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 9939 | no one: I don't know the exact quote, but it also says in the Bible that if your neighbour tries to get you to worship a different God, you should stone him to death, or something similar. ![]() Yep, that's loving alright. Edit: Couldn't find the quote, but... You must kill those who worship another God. Exodus 22:20 Kill any friends or family that worship a God that is different than your own. Deuteronomy 13:6-10 Kill all the inhabitants of any city where you find people that worship differently than you. Deuteronomy 13:12-16 Kill everyone who has religious views that are different than your own. Deuteronomy 17:2-7 Kill anyone who refuses to listen to a priest. Deuteronomy 17:12-13 Kill any false prophets. Deuteronomy 18:20 Still not getting a "loving" vibe... |
| Kurtni O'Hara Database Error Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 3417 | skank.: same here. The bible is not the love filled, amazing book people would like it to be. |
| skank. Editor Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 9939 | ^ A raped, unengaged virgin must marry her rapist and they can never divorce (Deuteronomy 22:28-29). I have a question, though I'm not sure if it so much is about God as it is the Bible. When I was looking for the quote, I found this: This is what also bothered me - particularly the plagiarism part. The story of the 'great flood' can originally be found in The Epic of Gilgamesh - the oldest known 'written' document. (It's actually chiselled into clay or stone tablets, I believe). Surely when looking at any text we must first question its validity...? Is that true? And if so, wouldn't it prove that the Bible was written by man not by God? Which would mean the only "proof" of God is actually completely unreliable? Edit: Odd bible quotes amuse me. But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean. And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness. (Leviticus 15:28-30) Which basically means, every time you have your period, you should sacrifice two turtles or two pigeons. God has some weird values. ![]() |
