NOT humans, Where the hell did adam and eve come from? and all these talks about jesus coming back a live, it would have been impossible in them days, they had no life saving devices, and the angel? theres no such thing.
theres my point of view
How do you know Jesus was dead in the first place? I mean, telling he was 100% dead would have 'been impossible in them days'. He could have just been unconscious or asleep or something.
Adam and Eve was not actually a true story. Find me a Christian who actually believes in Genesis and I'll give you a cookie. Seriously, its just a story to show God as the creator and how sin came into the world and yada yada.
Thats enough smart-arsing for tonight. xD |

Age: - Gender: - Posts: 18500 | February 22nd, 2007 at 11:02pm Organized religion holds no appeal to me. I do believe that there's a higher spirit, but, like I said, I don't think He/She needs all this worship. I also believe, however, that organized religions are ways of people finding something that they can believe in and that they can find comfort in. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. As a small child I went to church on Sundays, but was never brought up religiously. I haven't stepped inside a church [besides cathedrals in Europe] since a wedding almost three years ago. I don't think I need to be inside a specific place to pray because God/Whoever sees all, right? So He/She'd see my prayers from my home where I'm comfortable. Churches make me uncomfortable. Too stuffy, too 'must-listen-to-preacher'-ish.
I believe in Heaven, though. I believe that our souls go somewhere when we die. Too many people in my family have died for me to believe that there's nothing to go to - I don't know if I could let myself believe that.
I've been told by people that stars are tiny holes in the floor of Heaven so that the people up there can look down and see us. Sometimes, I actually think that's true. |

Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 79 | February 23rd, 2007 at 12:23am i don't believe in organized religion. i think that religion is an extremely personal choice and that pushing religion on others is a waste of time, and ultimately wrong...
i think that religion isn't bad, as long as it isn't pushed (see a pattern? ahhahaha). i know religion helps people through things and whether i believe it or not, that's the important thing. as long as it's kept to themselves, i don't care who or what people worship.
for me personally, i don't believe in god, goddess, whoever. i'm big on facts and religions generally don't offer that to me. i'm not a fan of any religion, regardless of what it is. in every religion there are people who take it too far and ruin it. it's really a shame that this has to happen, but that's just how it is.
my favorite Stephen Colbert quote:
"Agnostics are just Atheists without balls".
hahahahaha.

I'm a Christian.
I also curse a lot, think pot should be legal, am a dyke, support pre-marital sex, support gay marriage, think that most Christians are hypo-Christians . . .
I believe in God.
I kinda think he's an asshole a lot of the time.
But I don't look down on people who don't.
Faith is a choice we don't have the right to make for another. |

It's like, I believe in it and all and I think God is real and all.
But at the same time, I feel like it's a bunch of hype.
I respect the hell out of teens and adults who can be Christian or relious or whatever and not be tempted to do wrong. They always amaze me.
So, I guess I'm a "believe it when I see it" gal. |

What if people made him up just so we have guidance in life and make better choices in hopes that we go to a better place after we die?...
And theres so many religions out there. How are we supposed to know which one is right? |

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1931 | February 25th, 2007 at 12:13pm I don't really know much about the Bible, but the whole Adam and EVe and seven-day-world...I'm assuming that's all figurative language and people are kinda misled when they try and take it literally. Because when you interpret a lot of what the Bible says literally, it makes little sense. Same with a lot of Holy Scriptures. Quran, the Vedas, Lotus Sutra, whatever. It's metaphors, people.
And as far as I'm concerned, there is no "right" religion. There is God. There are those who choose believe in Him and those who choose not to. Among those who to believe, there are religions. like 20 of 'em. And none of them is right and none of them are wrong. It's just a way to communicate with God, to tell Him what's going on in your life, what you'd like, what sucks, and to tell Him if He's doing a good job or not. Kind of like a city council meeting for the entire world. |

I guess it all depends on what religion your from and what you really, truely believe in.
Personally I do believe there is a God, but sometimes, I feel he has no feelings for me. The many wishes that you make, God only has enough time for one a day. |

Indeed. But consider this;
From the earliest period of history, people have worshipped a higher entity. Whether this be the pagans of old worshiping the sun, Greeks worshiping Zeus or Christians worshiping God, it happens. Why'd you think that is?
God explains things. God explains those difficult questions we don't know the answers to. Since the dawn of time, people have wondered who created us. We could just have easily created God as he created us.
What if people did make him up?
Well, God wasn't just invented by one person. Ancient civilizations, thousands of miles away with no means of ever coming into contact with eachother all had their God of choice. I don't think its realistic to say that God was all just one big scam somebody made up one day. People have always believed. |

Well, actually...
I suppose I do believe that there is a God somewhere, but I think the bible is a pile of shit.
I don't think we should base our lives on the bible and live the way it says we should, whether or not it's the words of God himself.
But, put the bible aside, and I'd say there's a good chance God is existant. |

As for being a christian out of fear not faith. Thats cool. But the thing is, you can have a personal relationship with Christ. I know it sounds funky and crap. But I mean, if you just talk to the guy, its crazy. You feel better. I at the moment can testify that the christian walk is not an easy one. In the least. There are times that I slip and that I fall. But Gods always there to catch me. I dunno, but its just the higher force that takes care of me.
Theres a few sides to God;
He's the Father, who is and was creator and destroyer (or for you techy's Alpha and Omega scary term)
Son, who came and died, rose again. That I cannot refute.
And Spirit, who came after Jesus was ressurected and helps us today.
Say you've prayed. (I still as a struggling christian find it hard alot fo pray to God someimtes just out of the guilt that I messed up AGAIN) and you feel the guilt from doing wrong, or you feel happy. I mean, thats the Holy Spirt. I know, the Trinity, erk, sorta complicated (going through my whole bible class course, I'm sorta dilluting it and putting it into fewer words although it may not seem like it. sorta rambling sorry)
but thats a base of christianity. Feeling it. (yeah I'm using alot of bold. whatever. hah) You ask how do you know God's real. Like I said before. Just feeling it. Or even thinking about it. Thinking about the higher presence.
But I think that a Christian Realationship should be one out of want not fear or force. I don't believe that someone should force someone into a religon. I mean, it makes them turn from it anywho (look at marlyn manson, he went to a christian school for crying out loud) but you can't force your ideals on anyone. |

Ok. I'm not challenging or anything. But I've read statistics on people doing things with the Bible. Meaning runnig tests on the things that happened. There hasn't been a thing in the bible proved wrong yet. The flood for instance. People still see water marks on really high elevations from where the water covered the whole earth. You can find itzy bitzy sea shells occasionally in the sand (I live in the desert I have) As for Adam and Eve (not related to your comment) The story may seemed far fetched. As with everything in Genisis. But All scripture (I'm talking acording to christianity, you can choose to believe or not its your choice)
Acording to 2 Timothy 3:16:
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
So what I'm saying is if your a Christian, everything in the bible has validitiy to it. |

exactly. But people want to argue religon I guess. I mean. Open opinions are welcome I'm not trying to put down or anything, just stating a belief. And your right Dru, when it comes down to it, it is faith. Theres nothing you can do but believe. If you want to you can, if you don't, you don't have to, its your choice of religon. |
