Age: 13 Gender: Female Posts: 197 | June 28th, 2008 at 05:31am I have an electric guitar, I taught myself how to play, and I absolutely love it, and I play it practically every day. Except when I take a break, I take about a week away from it.
Then I go crazy without the feeling of the strings under my fingers, so I start playing again
I just learned how to play Afterlife today I got so happy. I can't do any solos though, but I'm patient enough to know I'll get to it one day :]
Does anyone have any techniques or practice things they care to share? 'cause my pinky finger is kinda weak and I wanna get used to using it more often. |

 Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 222 | June 28th, 2008 at 12:39pm What I do before I play,is I do finger warm ups.
First with my index finger and my middle finger starting up at the 6th string and making my way down to the first.Doesnt matter what fret your on.Then I'd use my index finger then my ring finger and do the same. Then i'd use my pinkie finger and yadadadadadada same old stuff.
But yea, before you start to play, let your fingers wounder over the fret board or the 'Neck' of the guitar,to get some feeling of the strings and so the muscles in your fingers dont cramp up.
But if you have an acoustic guitar, they're the best to do a finger workout with. The frets are much more spaced apart the an electric.

I know...It's like. "Wtf is a starcaster?!" Trust me. I've never heard of it either. o.o; |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 194 | July 4th, 2008 at 02:20am I have had a guitar for five years and i don't know how to play it...... ecept one song. A very short song. I am too shy to get lessons because I know it will mostly be a guy that is teaching me how to play it, and I was raised in an all girl catholic private school. So it will be very uncomfortable for me. |

I truthfully hate the lessons, but love to play.
All I got is my dad's old acoustic right now, I'm hoping for an electric for christmas. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 177 | July 4th, 2008 at 08:45am I have two acoustic guitars currently, a fender and a eleca
the fender is louder by far and most of my friends prefer its sound quality
oddly enough I like my eleca better its a ply wood piece of poop but I'm in love with it.
I would spend more time playing it but my tuner is out of batteries and I can't tune by ear to save my life.
I really suck.
I should be getting lessons soon. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 83 | July 19th, 2008 at 02:00am I've been playing guitar since I was twelve years old.
I have three electrics:
1st guitar: a black Behringer with a white pick gaurd. Piece of shit, but I still love it. The original neck was an oak with wide frets (horrible for my smaller hands at the time); it was replaced when I was thirteen (I think) with a mahagony neck, with slightly smaller frets.
2nd guitar: N1 Nuno Washburn. The frets are a little smaller, which makes it easier to switch between chords and such. Plays nice with its four pickups.
3rd guitar: Gibson Billie Joe Les Paul Junior in class white. Best (IMO), easiest to play, and most comfortable guitar I've ever owned or played. The body was weirder to handle at first, since I'm used to a Strat body, but its adaptable quickly. Love it.
