I did my first exam, which was grade 3 when i was 11, and then grade 5 when I was 12, and 7 when I was 14.
All distinction
I'm hoping to keep up te distinction-ness with grade 8 this year
So yeah... I absolutely love the piano. I admit, I didn't choose to play it at first, My dad wanted me to. But now i'm so glad he did, because he's the reason i've kept it up all these years really.
I love the piano because it's so flexible sort of, i mean you can play classical, rock, jazz whatever.
And once you learn it, everything else is easy.
It's also great for composing, you have so many keys to choose from! lol |

But I've been playing seriously for about 10 years, and its brilliant! I first learnt on a keyboard, but last year I actually got a piano! i've found it helps with other intruments, and other things..
at the moment i'm learning bohemian rhapsody, excellent piece of music, i recomend learning it. |

I like it :] I like how it sounds with other instruments though. I like to play classical. I'm actually really weird about playing piano because when I'm learning a piece I cannot stand anyone else listening. I just can't do it XD It's not finished, doesn't sound right, not ready so go away XD I probably should spend more time playing piano. I like it better than golf.
I have an Alex Steinbach piano. Needs a tune something fierce. |

Posts: 2456 | March 31st, 2008 at 02:59am I was taking lessons for a long time on piano, because I had gotten one for my eleventh birthday. I took them for a couple of years, and then eventually stopped going because the teacher made me cry several times.
Now, I'm trying to teach myself again. I'm trying to learn "What I've Done" and I want to learn "Sanckens Doll" soon.
Unfortunately, I can't play two different things at the same time, because my hands are dumb like that.

I've been in love with the idea of playing piano for years, so I jumped at the opportunity to start playing keyboard as it's kinda similar to piano.
I spend most Saturdays in the church choir room playing the piano for fun, I've came up with some tunes this way.
My tutor told me and Sarah (My classmate) that he's going to get us into a festival thing on the 30th of June, so we're writing a song for that. Gonna be awesome =] |

I would play on my grandmother's piano and play songs that i figured out just by hitting the keys, my mom told me i could play by ear. I didn't know waht it meant at the time, until i took lessons a few years later, and now i'm a great piano player. Not to be big headed at all... hehe, but my teacher gets very amazed quickly at what i can pick up just by listening to the song once. i find Piano a fun instrument soo.... yea! |

Yea, uh the reason this happens is because your used to the way taht the piano keys press down, and the feel of the piano *i know it sounds weird XD*. So when you go and play it on a keyboard, the keys feel different and it wil take you awhile to get the feel of it back. Not to mention keyboards aren't as good as a real piano XD |

I started a few times with the books we had to learn the basics and stuff, but I never continued. Then there was a fire which burnt our house to the ground, the piano with it :molly: so I haven't been able to play. But then, a few months ago we got a new piano and I've started again. it went a hell of a lot easier this time because I play quite some instruments right now xD so I saw the logic more easily. So yeah, I'm slowly progressing but I can play more and more ^^ <3 |

I'm starting to get back into it, but I just don't have the money for lessons. $12 a half hour. ._. My parents can't pay for it, and neither can my grandmother. I love playing it, but I'm just focused on so many other things that I can't concentrate on it. |

I play mostly a classical program when I'm not doing exams, but right now, sadly, I am. I'm doing Grade 8 (finally!) in August, because I have school exams at the end of the year. I only get half a year to prepare, but I'll live. Those scales that are a sixth apart are torture I tell you, TORTURE! I think I am going to pursue a musical career and hopefully be in a band similar to Evanescence, Within Temptation or Nightwish on the piano and lead vocals, as I also take singing lessons. |
