Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 348 | July 16th, 2008 at 12:59pm I used to teach Sunday School at my church for about 3 years voluntarily.
It was really fun
And the kids were great.
And I really enjoyed doing it for no money. |

And I love it. I socialize kittens, clean, wash them, groom them.
Look after cats, foster kittens and mother cats. I also walk the dogs and work in the shop |

Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 179 | August 4th, 2008 at 10:37pm I work at my local Oxfam shop and I love it. Tis awesome sorting through everyone's old stuff. People don't think we have standards and put any old thing out and seriously it's gross some of the things handed in, but a lot of the time the stuff is good. We're not allowed to sell electrical goods and I got my iPod from there
We even had a scooter handed in at one point. We were taking it in turns to go round the shop on it
But then some lady asked if it was for sale. We hesitantly sold it |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 2623 | August 10th, 2008 at 10:38am I volunteer at a Senior Center. It's really rewarding. I've found a lot in common with some of them, and I like it there. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 34 | August 21st, 2008 at 06:22am I volunteer to clean up the quarries in my town. I volunteer at the soup kitchen whenever I can, and I help collect food at local supermarkets for the homeless shelters.
I really want to volunteer at a retirement center soon, but I have to wait until next summer. v.v
I wouldn't count my PeaceJam organization as a volunteering thing, but that's mainly when we clean up rivers, parks, other places.
I don't know. I'll let you all decide. |

Age: 15 Gender: Male Posts: 36 | August 21st, 2008 at 05:30pm I'm in 4-H and therefore obligated to volunteer. Actually, today I have to teach a class on making panini's that the county agent volunteered me for. I've basically wasted about 1/50 of my life on things that other people volunteer me for. |

Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 134 | August 23rd, 2008 at 07:19am I volunteer at hospitals. I have to clean stuff and follow nurses around to do exactly as they tell me. It makes my feet hurt.
And I once volunteered at this daycare place. Never again will I do that. Ever. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 1591 | September 4th, 2008 at 10:01pm It's not really volunteer work cause I have to do it but I do Community Service at a local Special School.
I'm working with kids that are physically and mentally disabled. I don't know how good I'll be at it yet, but I hope I can make some kind of a difference. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 3001 | September 12th, 2008 at 10:53am Now I really want to volunteer for this cool organization that promotes LGBT rights. But I need to convince my friend to volunteer with me. >_> I also really want to volunteer in an anti-war campaign, have yet to find one that would suit me.
I tried to volunteer for Greenpeace once. But they wouldn't take me because I was too young -I was 14-ish. They said they need people ''with experience''. Grrrr.
Oh, and I want to take part in a tree-planting action really bad.
And I picked up garbage from a forest once. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 2623 | September 12th, 2008 at 04:39pm I volunteer through the California Scholarship Federation, it's a service club at my school.
Mostly I go to this place called RAFT, Resource Area for Teachers, that re-packages donated supplies to make cheap learning materials, projects, etc. It's a pretty cool place, and the more you volunteer the more you get to do, like demonstrations and stuff. :]
I've also done a few bay and highway cleaning days, it's tedious but fun and a good cause. :] |
