My good friend Simon loves rats, and I just love the way he is with them. I personally don't fear them having rabies or think that their tails are digusting, BUT I am very afraid of being bitten because it is painful!
but anyways, I was always jealous of Simon's rats and his awesome hair. He used to let his rats climb in his hair, and It was so cute xD

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but if you have a cold or some kind of illness, try to stay away from your hamster because when we got our first set of hamsters, the pet store owner said that the hamster can catch your illness.
And it's true, too. My little sister had a cold and was playing with the hamster, so that hamster caught the cold and died within that week. It may sound ridiculous, but it is true.
And also, hamsters that aren't from the same litter (males, to be exact), they do not get along well... my sister's hamster scared up my hamster pretty bad because of that. He was bald on the rump because it tore him up so bad.
When my other hamster had babies I bought my favourite back from my friends house to live here, I still see Big Mama, as she was renamed when we realised her penis didn't exist, but I love Edders more because he has side burns
But one of his siblings, Peter hasn't been rehomed, does anyone know if I introduce Peter to him after three weeks of seperation, if they'll fight? Because I'm tempted to take Peter in as well, but not if it will upset little baby Edders...

What I'd do is hold one in each and let them sniff each other and if they start chattering their teeth, that's usually their warning call or something. If they don't, try putting them in the same cage and monitor them, just in case.
i used to have two: Chubbers and Starr.
my sister gave me Chubbers for Christmas and I had him for 2 years before one night..he went missing. a week later; no Chubs. so im like "can i get a new Ham?" and moms like "lets go." so we got Starr an came home and got her settled in and im being tucked in (mind im like, 10 around this time) when we here scratching. and my cats keep going behind my dresser (where the cages were on top of) so we moved the dresser; There is my little survivor Chubbers.
so we brought out the extra cage and Chubs and Starr liked eachother. it came to, Chubs would walk out of his cage every night and walk to Starrs and they'd kiss through the bars (awww, i know) and they were in love.
then i was playing with Chubs and I noticed he had scabs on his feetsies. and Starr had a wet butt 24/7 (she was short hair so it was weird). we took them to the vet and well...Chubs died and an hour later so did Starr. :[
its romantic but i miss them sooo much.
but lucky me gets a new one for Christmas this year! yay me. her name will be Babooshka.
My hamster name is Hamtaro. He is a teddy bear hamster. He's fat, always has poop stuck to his fur, and hates me. I kind of hate him too for always riding his wheel between 2-7 A.M. And how he always pees in this one little corner and how I have to clean his pee up.
But I love him to death and will be quite sad if my three dogs eat him or he eats himself to deat.
My sister and I each have a Syrian hamster. Her's is really obese and it's named Peach, and mine is anorexic and it's named Baloney. (:
My cousin came over from Russia and he put them in the same cage 'By Accident' and I came downstairs and I saw Baloney in the corner and Peach cleaning herself and I was like "WTF HAPPENED?!" and I removed Peach from Baloney's cage.
And the saddest part is, they walked with a limp for a week. D:
I had 4 hamsters, I still have 2 though. 2 of them died, it was sad. Their names were Lita and Lily. I still have 2, Cujo and Mike, but Cujo's getting old and is blind in one eye. Mike's really hyper all the time.. it gets annoying when I try to sleep.
I got my Boo in third grade, which would have been 2003.
He was the cutest little thing. Whenever I walked in the room he would put his little paws on the bars of his cage, stick his pink nose out, and peek at me. He squeaked a lot, also.
Then, in 2005 he was all elderly like. His eyelids would always get sealed with this white gunk, I used to have to wash them everyday. He couldn't walk through the little tube down to the second floor of his cage. He stumbled around with his eyes closed. His fur went from black to gray, patches of it fell out. Then, I found him laying on his back, dead. Poor little bugger.

I have two russian dwarf hamsters.
They're called Toshiko and Gunther.
They're adorable
I used to have an albino hamster named Tracy. She was evil! Whenever I'd try and hold her she'd bite my fingers and jump into the cage. Now I'm scared of them.
