For most of us, our current job isn't what we are looking for in a career. So what are your plans for the future? What jobs interest you, and what careers do you want to find yourself in 5, 10 or 15 years down the line.

For me, it is to be a writer. I don't care if I have to be poor and living in a forest, the main thing I want to do with my life is to be a fiction writer. I know that is a hard career to break into, so as a fall back job I may go into the publishing business or journalism. I am already working for a Webzine that deals with music and shiz, so I am hoping that will give me some experience. When I move into Manhattan I am going to look into job opportunities in anything concerning music, journalism, or publishing. That's my main focus.

Either veterinary science or studying communications [which is basically journalism].

I can't choose. Cheese

If I become a vet, then I probably won't have time for hobbies and the work will be really hard. When I'm 40 I probably won't want to go outside in the freezing cold and pick up big animal feet to see what the problem is there. However, animals are a strong passion of mine and it would be a pretty cool career.

Then there's journalism. English subjects are my obvious strength, and I like writing both fictional and informative articles. I could travel to horse competitions around the word, interview musicians or review stuff... the choices are endless. The downside, as my dad keeps telling me, is the relatively low pay, the competition to get into uni for communications and the people you'll have to deal with.

But it sounds like a more fun career option... and I really want to enjoy my life, so I dunno.

I'd love to be a rockstar. Teenage dreams are what my parents dismiss that idea as though.

Well, for the next two years, I'll still be in highschool, but after that I'll be going to college for six or more years to study music, creative writing, and art. I plan on being a vocalist in a rock band. It's just always been a dream of mine. I've never wanted anything as long nor as much as this. I feel like I have the talent and capabilities to do it, so I kind of feel like it's fate for me, like I'm obligated to do it.

I've got three more years of highschool but after that I really want to be in a band. Most likely a guitarist. Mum said I have to have a job to fall back on so I'll either be a writer or a artist. I want to go to America to study them.

There is no way I will ever be able to do it but I'd love to be a tattoo artist.
I know it doesn't pay too well and it's frowned on but I think it's the perfect job for me.

I've got a while before I have to choose though, but my parents will make me be a lawyer or something...

You have no idea how much I want to sing.
I would literally do anything for it.

Backup plans?
I'd love to help with animals and the like.
I'd love to start acting. I don't mean like, Harry Potter, Wizard Of Oz, Mean Girls movies or Torchwood, Doctor Who, My Family tv shows, I'd kill for a small part in something. I think I'm rather good at exaggerating so I don't think I'd be heading for Eastenders...

But when I'm old enough to get a job in the first place, I don't actually care what I'll get...although a paper round is out of the question [unless its an afternoon round].

Cool.

I want to be a writer too, though I can already see myself living with 200 cats in a cramped apartment in Chicago. That's not the point.

Doing what you want and enjoying what you do is definitely what one should do.

Either that or I'm going to be working in the music industry. Being with production would be cool; fixing balance problems, figuring out the "vision" and helping achieve that goal would be really great.

What I really wanna do, I realize I most likely will never be able to do, and it depresses the hell out of me. I want to sing the lyrics I've been writing for years. I'm not saying I want to be like Gerard Way, but my lyrics I feel could change the world. I pour my heart out into them. But I realize I have no musical talent, though by just listening to a song I can pick out every note each instrument is playing, I just can't play it. I can't sing to save my life, so never mind.

But I currently work at a nursery, when I turn 16 I want to work at either Star bucks or Hot Topic. After that is a mystery. So basically I'm screwed.

I want to be a singer in a rock or symphonic metal band. That'd be amazing. And as my "fall back" job, I'd just be a writer. I know that I'd probably be dirt poor, but -shrug- I'd rather get up every morning to a cozy tiny little home with peeling wallpaper feeling great and motivated with new ideas about what I'm going to do than wake up to a huge modern house, take a swim through the indoor pool, then feel absolutely shit about my daily job in a stuffy office.

I want to work in telly Smile.
Not on screen... I'm sorta past wanting to a 'star', but I'd love to work backstage.
I really, really want to be an Assistant Producer. It's not even the highest job on the payroll, but if I got that high, I'd be so happy. You get to do abit of everything.

That's how I want to affect the way people think, tbh. Be part of a really good TV programme.
I'm so excited for my future career. It's gonna be awesome Very Happy.

Everyone is telling me to be a teacher. It kind of runs in the family. My grandfather was a high school music teacher, my uncle teachers music at my College, my grandmother taught classical piano on the side. My mother is a high school English teacher. I don't want to be a teacher, I am avoiding it like the plague, But I always get from the teachers I work with :you would be a great teacher Jenni! You could do writing on the side." And my grandfather tells me "Its the least" I could do becoming a teacher. And it's like...nuuu >_O

I enlisted in the Navy (If anyone didn't know already Rolling Eyes ) and I'm going to train to be a Master at Arms, so basically, Military Police. I'm undecided on whether or not I want to stay enlisted and retire in 20 years, but when/if I get out in about 5 years, I'd most likely have the proper training to become a police officer. Law Enforcement had always been one of my career ideas Smile

Well, I've got to wait awhile until I can apply for a job.
But my longed profession is a tattoo artist. That or a motorcross competitor.
I know, I've set quite a few high bars there, eh? But I love tattoos; they just fascinate me in the strangest ways and I love motorcycles; they're so beautiful. In Love
