Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1628 | May 19th, 2008 at 11:23pm A lot of people have friends on mibba, for some people their only friends are on mibba.
How does mibba affect your social life? Or is it your social life?
I was wondering how people viewed it, like, whether they're addicted to it, so no longer have a social life or not.
So yeah, thoughts? |

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 13370 | May 20th, 2008 at 12:09am I love Mibba more than I do RL and my social life...but I do have a life, I do go places on weekends, and I do have a fair amount of friends...but like I said, Mibba owns all. I'm soon getting to the point where I'd rather stay home and just talk to like...Erin and Sus.. and like, Adrienne and Ripley and many others rather than go out with my RL friends. |

Just because everything has faded out so much with my RL friends and family, and there are more people that tend to understand me on here. It's like...I can tell someone who's thousands of miles and wires and wires away my problems, because I can't see their face. And when I'm trying to tell someone in RL, I fail, because I'm afraid of the look on their faces when they hear what I've got to say. And - they're much more intriguing, tbqh.
Plus they're nicer to me.
People in RL tend to hate me once they hear my hour long speeches about how the world is a miserable, frustrating place. |

I speak to Erin over MSN microphone.

Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 1851 | May 20th, 2008 at 01:12am Mibba pretty much is my social life, apart from Arianna, and when we talk it's usually about mibba anyway xD
I mean, I have friends and all, but I would rather spend my Friday nights on here than at the mall where everyone else from my school is. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 2944 | May 20th, 2008 at 01:20am Mibba is my social life, pretty well. I don't leave my house a whole lot anyways, but when I do, I'm usually thinking, "Oh, I can't wait to check Mibba when I get home."
I tend to enjoy talking to the people on here more than my friends in RL. I think it's because I can tell people things I would never tell my friends, and I don't have to be afraid of being judged. I just love Mibba; it keeps my mind occupied. |

Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 5145 | May 20th, 2008 at 04:29am If I have to pick between mibba and my social life when I was in Elementary, I'd pick my social life in Elementary. I mean, I love my friends in mibba, really.. but my friends in the past.. they're my family, my bestfriends, my life.
But now, the people around me in HS are like, the worst people ever born, I'd pick mibba in a heartbeat. |

You mumble, I make no sense.
We're just meant to be friends, obviously.
I have social anxiety anyway, so my social contact outside of Mibba is virtually null. I have one close friend I see whenever hes down (he moved away a few months back) and I boyfriend-kinda-thing, I see quite a bit.
But that's about it. |

Well the good parts of the internet anyway.
I've seen my friends face to face, maybe... once in the last month or so.
So yeah, mibba is my social life.

Age: 15 Gender: Male Posts: 1277 | May 20th, 2008 at 07:37am Mibba and MSN are my social life, other than when I go to concerts and chat with fans and musicians. People care when they should not; I'm happy, so me being "social" should not matter.
I honestly think I'm addicted to Mibba, and I'm enjoying every second of it. |

Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 5189 | May 20th, 2008 at 11:26am I have a social life outside of Mibba.
When you go to Uni there's lots and lots of stuff to do, even if it's just hanging out in the food court or whatever.
When I'm at home it's Meeba though. But yeah, it's not like Mibba is the only bit of socialising I do. It just...brings me closer to people who have similar interests as me - something that I'm yet to find in the outside world to a great extent.. |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 77 | May 20th, 2008 at 12:06pm I like both Mibba and RL, but given a choice to go hang out at the cinema with my friends compared to sitting here watching friends write stories and poetry that all sounds scarily similiar...I'll take my buds and a movie thank you.
Because, seriously, for the most part, we all like the same basic things.
We all hate the same basic things.
And we all write about the same basic things.
So sure, Mibba is awesome and I wouldn't trade it for much, but I personally prefer the variety and challenges RL can give you compared to the awesomeness that is Mibba. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 18639 | May 20th, 2008 at 01:44pm I can talk to people on Mibba wayyyyy more than anyone in real life. Well, except Louise, because she's a rad biznatch. I do have a life, but I don't like going out with friends. My life consists of horse related things, tbqh. I have better friends there than at school.
I'd rather stay at home than hang out with friends, not only 'cause of Mibba but because of other stuff.
My parents think I have no life, so they're trying to stop me from going on Mibba and forcing me to hang out elsewhere. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 10177 | May 20th, 2008 at 01:48pm I have heaps of friends on Mibba. And then I have a few friends in RL.
I like to keep them seperate because it's like they are two different social things and if they meet they are going to clash or something.
But I would love to meet my friends from Mibba. That would be great. |
