^ You can partition the hard drive so you can choose whether to start on Windows or Leopard/Tiger.

Depends on how compatible the games are. If it's mostly games that won't work with a Mac, it'd be easier to get a laptop with Microsoft installed.

Otherwise, Macs are cool. But a bit pricier.

Bootcamp~

and i've got an iMac, and it's the best computer i've ever owned, (:

When I was laptop shopping the guy kept trying to sell me that new super thin apple one. But it didn't have a disk drive.

I say go with a PC because, in my personal experience, Macs are nothing but annoying.
They don't have a right click which I find to be the most obnoxious thing about them.

My school just switched from PCs to Macs and it sucks. Everyone hates them. tehe
So yeah, that's my opinion. Macs are shit. XD

Maybe it's because they don't know how to use them?

All you need to do is hit control while clicking normally for the secondary menu. Or you can change the settings...

I'm getting a laptop for my sixteenth birthday, and everyone I know is trying to talk me out of getting a Mac. But I went to the Apple store recently, and I played with all the computers on display, and I think I'm in love. I hate my current computer--it's a tempermental piece of shit--and the Macs are just so much easier to work with. Plus, there's this really cool writing program I found that's only available on Macs, and I want to get it so I can write my stories more easily.

I'm getting a Macbook Pro! Wow
Well, hopefully. When there's a good price.

How do I tell the difference between an old model macbook pro and a new model?

Is this the latest one?

i wouldn't be able to use a mac. i like right clicking and i hate so many problems trying to figure out how to work them at school. plus i'd never be able to afford one.

I have a Mac. It's really user friendly and runs very well. No need to worry about virus' and hackers either. But if you're a heavy gamer they're not the best to use since you can't really modify them. If you wanna do that then get a PC.

iChat is the original IM program on a Mac but you can't chat with your MSN friends on it. There is a way to do it but it's a total waste of time. Microsoft Messenger so far is the only version of MSN for the Mac. It does suck but so far it'll have to do.

PCs all the way File

Macs focus on being shiny
Computers focus on being useful

Although, having said that, I am quite ashamed in the sense I'm making an opinion without actually ever owning a Mac. Though I had one for a week and found it amazingly frustrating! It just doesn't...work.

I've been using PCs ever since I was, like, five. XD

But ever since I entered Middle School, I fell in love with the Mac. They give us our own laptops for the whole year at school, and they're so much better than our PCs. Shocked

And since I'm going to High School soon, I want a Mac for my own. I'm really fond of the Macbook Pro or the Macbook, but who knows. Cute

So, I guess I have to choose Mac on this one. Shifty

Oh yeah... because my Macbook is not useful at all...
[/sarcasm]

Macs are not for everyone, and PCs are not for everyone. If you're just wanting a computer to do basic word processing and internet browsing etc., then PCs are probably the way to go. Because Macs are quite expensive in comparison to some brands of PCs, so why should you pay more for something with programs you may not use?

But I have found that Macs are more useful for multimedia, which is why I bought one. They come with programs like iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand etc., which I find quite useful for my media studies.

Also, I would like to point out a rather good benefit of Macs - it is quite rare to contract a virus, purely because most of the viruses out there are targeted towards PCs.

*hugs Macbook*

I really don't see what the big deal is about Mac computers, or anything made by Apple, for that matter. Maybe I'm just too accustomed to the set-up of a PC, but I remember that my middle school's computer only held Mac computers, and whenever we needed to do research in the computer lab, the Macs were just...annoying. Nothing ever worked; the entire set-up of it was just strange. And I've heard of a lot of people just not being able to do as much things as they'd like on Macs, such as installing certain games, using certain browsers. I don't know, to me, that just seems like a huge rip-off, waste of money, and waste of time. All their commercials are ridiculous, with that same stupid message being said over and over again: Guess what Mac can do? We can do this, and that! Can your PC do that? Of course it can't, because it's not a Mac! Very Happy' I'm sick of seeing that; there is nothing wrong with a PC; if anything, there's more crap that you can't do on a Mac, simply because all their products are based around each other, you can't install something because it's not made by Apple; can put songs from iTunes, only onto your iPod, no other type of MP3 player created outside of the Apple corporation. I'm sorry, I just really don't see why everyone loves Macs so much...they're really not that great of a product Shifty. They're pretty overrated.
