Heart-Shaped Box.:
if anything, there's more crap that you can't do on a Mac, simply because all their products are based around each other, you can't install something because it's not made by Apple; can put songs from iTunes, only onto your iPod, no other type of MP3 player created outside of the Apple corporation. I'm sorry, I just really don't see why everyone loves Macs so much...they're really not that great of a product Shifty. They're pretty overrated.
But PCs are like that as well. I mean, take Zune for example. That's the Windows equivalent of an iPod. You can't use Zune on a Mac because it's not compatible. That's no fault of the Macintosh creators; that's a fault with the creators of Zune because they made it so it wouldn't be compatible. But yet a Windows user can use an iPod on their PC, even though the iPod is an Apple product because Apple chose to make their product more widely available. The point I'm trying to make here is that the Apple corporation actually makes their products user-friendly for most operating systems, which is quite a good plus for them I'd say because it generates more business. They aren't restricting themselves to just Mac users, unlike what Windows does with a lot of their products (but not all).

However, having said that, you can run a Windows operating system on a Mac but you can't run a Mac operating system on a PC. You can also get a Macintosh version of the Microsoft Office suite.

Personally, having been a former PC user that has now switched to Mac, I think there is actually "just as much crap" you can do on a Mac, if not more. And I'm not just saying that for arguments' sake, either. I personally find the interface better, smoother and nicer to look at. Plus, I can take screenshots of movies easier tehe (I never worked out how to take screenshots of movies on a PC - and no, the Print Screen button didn't work).
You can get a myriad of Mac software just like you can get a myriad of PC software. Plus, there's a range of software that you can download free for Mac (which is probably the same for PCs).

-shrug-
I know Macs aren't for everyone, but I really don't see how someone can make a claim that you can't do as much on a Mac, because I seem to be quite content with all the programs I have and can get.

Mac's are waaaaaaaay better.
But the PowerMac's (Laptops) really suck. My brother had to trade his in once already, and he has to trade it in again for a new one.
Also, that macbook air's suck.

I am in love with my Macbook Pro. Happy face

It's way faster than my PC.
And a lot nicer to look at.

I like Macs wayyy better.
The operating system's better, the graphics are prettier and for some reason I've always felt more comfortable on their keyboards.

I have an iBook I've had for...three years, I think, and it's totally fine (except for me filling up the hard drive). We also have a MacBook Air for the family, and I love it. I think it's a great computer...

I looked at a Macbook Air.
If I had one I would get so scared of breaking it.

Mind you, I was scared I would break my 2g Nano when I got it. I've had it since it first came out, and it's still in perfect condition.

I love the Apple screens. Happy face

I much prefer PC.

I've always had bad experiences with Macs. PCs do the job and are usually a lot more accessable, considering most programs work with Windows.

Imaginary Grace:
I say go with a PC because, in my personal experience, Macs are nothing but annoying.
They don't have a right click which I find to be the most obnoxious thing about them.

My school just switched from PCs to Macs and it sucks. Everyone hates them. tehe
So yeah, that's my opinion. Macs are shit. XD

Couldn't have said it better. I went to four primary schools, only one had PCs. Two years of dreamily surfing the net & doing my work with ease. Now I'm at college. We have brand new PCs & they're the sex! We get taught all our ICT stuff on PCs and everything.

Macs aren't great. Apparently not much of the computer operating world uses Macs.

I have a mac, and while I love it when it works and the fact that macs do not get virises, I've had a heap of problems with it. It's interface is brilliat when it works and 4 years ahead of PC interfaces the last time I checked - maybe that's why macs get problems since the move about in untested waters. :S Dunno.

Don't get me started on the new Windows Vista. Gawd, I want to bash the screen in when i use it at uni (and the new microsoftword 7 - don't go there)

So if you get a PC, get Windows XP. (OMG it rhymes! lol XD)

What problems are you talking about specifically? You kind of haven't given any... all you've said is you like the interface but it has "problems"...?

Hum, where to start. By interface I mean the layout and organisation of the mac - its very easy and intuitive to use.

However, updates mucked up the programing somehow so that for a time my computer would randomly shut down (usualy right in the middle of when I really needed it -__-), the battery had to be replaced (its a laptop) and last but not least the entire HD crashed. It took a near full week for Apple to copy everything over to a new HD it was that badly damaged (though no fault of mine - I asked)

Luckily my computer is still under warranty so I didn't have to pay for any of it. :S

I am in the tiny minority that uses some from of GNU/Linux distribution. I must say, I love it. Yes, you need to get used to learning a few *NIX commands for use in the terminal and learn how to compile programs from source (the ones that are not in a package for your distribution) but there are many things about it that are great.
It is free, stable, generally user friendly and is not Proprietary software. If you want to edit it, you download the source-code, edit it and recompile it. Your own custom OS. Can't do that with a Mac or Windows can you?
So, on an official standpoint I am a PC user with a Linux OS running on it.

I love my Mac.

I find it's more for things like artistic things like CAD and video making. If that's what you like then maybe go for that.

PC is handy in the sense and a lot of programs are compatible with it. Smile

Macs are really good with design programs, and have better quality screen. They're fairly cheap compared to a PC, though not all software and downloads work on it.

Macs do everything well, except the programs that don't work. If you download software off the internet, its not so good as most things are made for PC. Macs don't get viruses though :}

It's true, Macs can get viruses. However, if you compare the virus count for PCs with Macs, then there are far more viruses for PCs than there are Macs. The chances are slimmer of getting a virus on a Mac because there are simply not as much as them targeted toward Mac operating systems, especially OS X.

I'd say PC. I've only worked with Macs way back in elementary school. They frustrate me because I don't know how to work with them. If you've worked with Macs alot and feel more comfortable using one then buy a Mac. I'd buy a new PC because I actually know how to run one. I don't have the patience to learn how to use a Mac.

PC. With Windows XP... Vista takes a lot of memory. eBay! Or Amazon. They'd get you a PC with XP. If you're going to download programs then a Mac is pretty useless as almost all programs can be downloaded on a PC but not all on a Mac.

Macs also have no right click, which annoys me so much... I've used them a few times and hate them in general. Urgh.

Um, you can actually right click on a Mac Shifty
You can change the configuration of the track pad or mouse in system preferences, or just hold down control while clicking.
It's not hard, believe it or not Mr. Green

Vista is the most irritating operating system I've ever known. As an operating system get XP personally. Vista seems to be always updating, not compatible with a lot of things currently because it's still rather new on the market.

Macs are flawed in that sense but I still love my Mac. Good memory, slick design...Shifty

I prefer PCs for sure.
Maybe that's just because I have never had many problems with mine.
I rarely get viruses and everything I go to do works quickly and efficiently.
