I always find it in lame in films when he's a bat. It always looks so fake. In the old films anyway.

People in those days were very superstitious and uneducated.
They thought draining blood would make people better.

From what I have read (because I find this woman so fascinating! No woman has ever managed to do what she has done) she slapped one of the servent girls too hard, and blood splattered onto her hand. When she washed the blood off her hand and noticed that it looked younger and whiter.
Aparently (this could be urban legend) she was locked up in her room as her sentence (due to her being a relative to the royal family, it would be unseemly for them to exactute her) the door was all bricked up, with only a space for food and drink to go through; the guard didn't realise she was dead until a few days later and she still looked rather young.
She only bathed in the blood, never actually drinking it. She and her closest servents/friends would have massive orgies in the blood.

It would be quite scary if someone in the present was sadistic enough to mimic her. I don't think any man has managed to do what she did either, although I live in NZ so I don't hear much from other countries lol

I don't think any man has done it either. Unless you count Vlad, but he was her ancestor and born a good hundred years before.

It's funny, more weapons are available now but crimes way back in that era were always so much more brutal. Seriously, with everything in the world today you'd think there would be nutcases out there worse than her, especially considering they would have heard about her and other historic murderers....oh well that's a good thing.

Anyway, personally, she strikes me as a very interesting woman, I would always like to know what she thought about and how her thought process worked.
And then another part of me is frightened of her, and thinks she was a wee bit off.

I love her. I think she's the only white woman that has killed that many people. Thats why I find her amusing and interesting.

Due to statistics its usually a caucasian[sp?] man that plans and goes through murders such as this nature. African Americans are usually the ones that kill on an impulse. Women don't really kill enough to be serial killers.

There was another woman....a long time ago. (western days)

I think I remember reading that. There are some good books about female killers; one book was called Deadlier than the Male which was a really interesting book.
