Lol, I know what that feels like! Friesians are like.. well, I can't even sit back during the canter sometimes. tehe

I'm thinking about picking up Berry; the oldest gelding somewhere next week. He isn't technically trained to ride, but he's been trained to go in front of a carriage ever since he was 2,5 so he's kind of used to having a bit in his mouth etc.
I sat on him a couple of times and he's so well-behaved, except the last time when he took a run with me and I had a hard time stopping him.
It's kind of dangerous to practice outside with him, because if I wouldn't've been able to stop him; something horrible could of course've happened.

So I'm waiting until the grass in the meadow is short enough to ride, but I'm also just postponing it because I'm a pansy. tehe
I did a lot of other stuff with him ever since, though, so he won't feel as though I'm scared of him since he took the run with me.

I'm crazyanxiousexcited to start with him again. I hope I won't screw up. tehe

Eddie's strides on the other hand are huge Shocked

my morgan is the same way! I ended up hanging on for dear life when he decided to canter last weekend without me telling him to. He was in a bitless bridle for the first time since the bosal days, so I had less control than I normally did. BIG horse, BIG gaits. Shocked
my legs were sore the next day.

Ahhh you definitely must do it! It'll be like a little mission for you to get Berry going nice and good. Weird

I have a pony club rally day tomorrow... I want to go but I have a feeling I'll only be able to go for the second half of the day when they do the jumping and shizz because I have to study. Sad

Cheese

My lower leg muscles were killing me when I came off a cross country course once... not only had I been standing in the stirrups most of the time, but Eddie wouldn't slow down at all. I think that day we lost a bit of control. tehe

I'm not really a fan of dressage, but I think Flower would be okay at it, she can do transitions pretty well and flying lead changes. Ace was pretty terrible when I showed in dressage xD. He's extremely lazy and doesn't really like to do dressage. The second time I did a jumping show with he he refused and I went flying into the jump. I broke it xD. I haven't shown Flower yet, I'm way scared because she's kind of...psycho lol. But she's been calmer lately :]

I jumped Flower for the first time yesterday and she was so good! I was so proud :] It was only like, 12-15 inches high, but thats ok :]. She kept acting like she was going to refuse but never did. She's so good at getting the timing right! I barley had to do anything. Ace is really good at getting his timing, too. I was so shocked she was good and didn't gallop at the jump and after the jump. My instructor was surprised too xD.

Ah, sorry about my rant, no one I'm friends with rides really so I have no one to be all excited too, lol.

Aww I used to have two horses, Bacci and Lulu. They were my moms but when I was born, Lulu became my horse so to speak when I was old enough. My mom was devestated when Bacci died, then Lulu. She didn't have the strength to go near horses afterwards.

We've eased her back into it though, so we go to the shows and races again. Maybe we'll get a new pony soon Smile

^^ that is so cool for you! I really hope you'll get a pony. : ]

I was about to get on Berry on yesterday but it started to rain, so I just lunged him.
He was kind of jumpy, like he wanted to shoot away every five seconds, but he didn't.
He sure was tensed up though, so I decided to wait a little bit longer [ even longer Shifty ]

Maybe today.. Or next week. Or maybe next month. [I'm ttly chickining out, I admit. ] Unsure
I'm kind of really fed up with myself, but I don't know. What if I mess up? : /

Thankyouu! Arms

I did it !!! Mr. Green
Whoa.
I'm kind of still overwhelmed by it.
I took him out to the meadow and lunged him for a bit && hella peptalked myself up && just got on top of him.
We did some trot, but mostly just walking and making figures and stuff.
He can't walk a straight line && he's prone to pulling through the bit, but I guess that's because he's used to walk in front of the carriage with a much stronger bit.
I just used a double-broken waterbit, whereas he's used to walking with a liverpool with the chain kind of tight, since he's kind of jumpy. [I don't really agree with it, but the man who drives him in front of the carriage gets more say in it than I do..]

I'm just.. Wh000t. : ]
Way happy about it.

I haven't got any pictures of me on him, obviously; because I was all by myself; but here goes;

Ah! I decided to join this topic because I love horses, and I has one named Toby. He's a black and white paint, I got him when he was three, now he's six. I use to ride western and show western sometimes. But now I do english, and do a lot of pleasure, and some jumping. I show, but not a lot, I wish I could show more than I do. But I board where Emily does (hi Emily!). Uh yeah.

^ And the post a few above this one, your horse is so pretty!

Exquisite Corpse.:

ARGH HE IS GORGEOUS! In Love -steals-

I have a dressage competition not this weekend but the weekend after... I'm excited, which is weird, because the comp only consists of two dressages tests. But I'm interested to see how Eddie goes... he really needs the experience in the dressage ring because he's still kind of new to it and tenses up.

One of the tests we're doing is a novice test, where you have to do sitting trot and medium walk and extensions and shizz. (I'm not sure if our dressage levels are the same as yours)

I'm kind of worried, because my sitting trot on him is still pretty horrible. xD I'm glad I've mastered extended trot though... my previous horse, Della, had a mean extended trot. tehe

I've always wanted to do Dressage. I've done it before in like a fun show, but it didn't go over too well. My horse enjoys jumping a bit more I think. tehe

Good luck in your show though !

Thanks for the picture comments !! Cute
I'm going to give it another try tomorrow. Unfortunaly I haven't been able to sooner, what with the weather && my crazy schedual. Neutral
But okay, I'm up for it. I have a little more faith in it now, because I talked about it more with some people && they told me how to handle things better.
So the next time, I'm going to just concentrate on making straight lines with him && getting the relaxation in it more. I also decided I'm going to continue using this simple once-broken bit, instead of a Pelham / Liverpool, like some people I know told me to use.
He's pretty strongmouthed beause he's been used to having a Liverpool in his mouth for like 5 years, but I'm going to try and get him used to something lighter.
He should be able to do it. Or rather sad: I should be able to do it. Wink

^ Cute I'm sure you'll do fine, again xD. I was lunging my horse today, and after I finished I was cooling her out, and all of a sudden she was really lame, even though she had been fine the whole time. She's had feet problems before, I hope she didn't hurt herself againSad .
She was better when I put her away, though. I think she stepped on a rock, I hope.
^^Good luck at your show!

^ I hope your horse didn't get hurt!
A friend of mine had a problem with that, so she had the vet come over. Nothing serious happened to her.

My aunt has five horses, but I'm only riding one in shows this summer.
He's a Tennessee Walker named Purple Rain.

^Arms Thanks, she was fine today :] I was so happy. When I first bought her, the old owners farrier had messed up her feet, her shoes were way too small and she was off for months.

I love Tennessee Walkers. They're so pretty :] I don;t really show much.. I do like it, though :].
