I have no clue what sea salt soaks are - never even heard of them before this thread - and have no money to go to the doctors nor store....
It's simply a solution of water (preferably boiled to help sterilize it as much as possible) and sea salt water. It's important you don't use regular table salt. You just soak your piercings with it to clean them and help with healing. |

What can she do so it won't get infected? |

Wouldn't that stretch the hole? the idea of the 2nd one is the little bulb at the end keeps it from falling out, but they still do, abd I can imagine it to a bit uncomfortable as well. It would stretch the hole, but the hole would go back to normal size almost straight away. |

Im planning on getting mine done a few weeks before school starts. If you feel your tragus, it's all cartilage, so I imagine it won't feel good. But, I don't think there is any nerve endings directly in your tragus so that's good.
I'll get mine done in a couple weeks when I go home, I'll tell you how bad it hurts. Im a major wimp though, and I think everything hurts. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 503 | July 22nd, 2008 at 10:36pm Well i found out a few things. Cailage piercings should never be done with a gun and they can take 4 - 12 moths to heal because its quite thick.
I'm having mine done in a few weeks too. Have to have it done over the holidays coz my school doesn't allow piercings... |

In england you have to be 16 or over to go by yourself, but if your younger then you have to be with an adult. |

Are you in the US?
You have to be 18 in the States to get it done yourself - bellybutton wise, I think. At least that's how it's done where I live. And I'm pretty sure you need a parent or legal guardian's permission. I even think it's a law, so if they do it without permission I wouldn't trust them. Of course, I'm not 100% sure. I just remember I needed parent permission for my 20-year-old brother to take me to get my first cartilage a few years ago.

Yeah its 18 alone and under you need to be with an adult. My mom is begging me to get one and I'm like she got hers done and said it hurt like fucking hell. So if you do get it done have someone hold your hand!!! I'm dead serious. |

It may take longer then 12 months to heal depending on how much of a bashing it may get, you might not think so but Tragus's get a bit of a knocking and also if you sleep on it that can pull out the healing process and no piercing should be done with a gun, ever.
You may hear a cracking sound when the needle goes through, but for me it was very faint the worst thing was the sound of metal on metal when my ring was being tightened. But otherwise it is a pleasant piercing and you'll enjoy it. |
