Oh okay I think I actually knew that and now just feel plain stupid.

I really want my nose pierced but I don't know if it'll suit me. How do you tell what'll suit your face?

^ Hmm, that's a tough one.
I suppose asking people would be your best bet. Or you could get a fake one, and see how that works out for you. After looking in the mirror so many times with it on, you might just realise it does/doesn't look right.

I want my lip pierced, but I don't think it'll suit me.

You could try getting a dark eyeliner and putting a dot where you'd like the jewellery of the piercing to be on your nose, to see if it would suit having something on that part of your face.

I just got my ears pierced for the first time today. Any tips on keeping it clean? Anything I should know? I feel really stupid but I don't want it to get infected or anything. And you guys seem like you know what you're talking about.

Clean them with sea salt water twice a day, and you probably should after any vigorous exercise too. Don't over clean them, though. Only handle them with clean hands and don't play with them excessively. Make sure you don't change the studs (?) for about 4-6 weeks. The longer the original jewelery is in, the better.

Apart from that, there's not much else to recommend to stop infections. Just follow the general rules, have patience when they're healing, and everything should be okay. As mentioned above, though, this isn't anything your piercer shouldn't have mentioned.

I recommend keeping them in longer then six weeks, as a general rule I don't change over till the piercing it healed and there is no crust and no anything coming from the piercing, which is longer then six weeks.

I emailed a store near where I live, and they said I had to be 18 to get my belly button pierced alone, and at least 16 to get it with a parent. They're like, hardcore...They need proof that they're my parents with like a birth certificate and everything... O_o

^ Age restrictions are there for a reason, though. I personally didn't get any piercings until I was 16, because that was when I could get them without parental consent, in a professional parlour.

You shouldn't really get angry when places won't pierce you if you're underage or something. At least you know they're doing their job well, and that they're responsible. It may be a little annoying for the person getting pierced, but the more careful they are, the better, in my opinion.

They can be resposible with someone my age. In my country, I'm considered a man because I don't freaking have ear piercings. Grr

But they can't make exceptions to the rule, can they? Otherwise everyone would be doing it.

I see your point as to why it would be annoying, though, but all you can do is just ask your parents for consent, or wait until you're the right age ( 16/18 ).

Okay. Thanks. Any idea how long that would be? Or is it different for each person?

My mom had to prove she was my mom when I got my cartilage done.
That's good they're doing that, though. Shows they're professional. And it is the law where you have to be 18 to get bellybutton piercings done by yourself. Aren't you glad they're not breaking the law? If they broke that imagine what else they're not following.

It's usually different, and it just depends on the person. I've heard of people who's bodies cope really awful with healing and I've heard of people who heal in a few weeks.
Though the general rule of thumb is six weeks. As long as you clean your piercing regularly and not touch it during the healing process.

Just btw, for the sea salt mix, buy yourself some natural sea salt, if you don't already have some. [You can pick it up really cheap in most health stores- be sure you don't use general table salt]. To make the mix add about 1/4 teaspoon of the salt to a cup of warm water. [Some people use hot water from a tap, others boil water-which is more hygenic-but then you have to wait a while for it to cool enough to be usable for your skin].
Then you can dip a cotton pad in the mixture and gently wipe around the piercing, cleaning away any residue.
