I stretched with crescents up until about six 6 where I couldn't find anymore crescents at the mall any size bigger than 6, that I liked. Shifty

Huh. My bad, then, I guess. It was just something I had heard somewhere. Must have been a mistake.
Thanks. Cute

I've just realised how bad I am at watching people get piercings done x___x
I couldn't watch my friend get her lip pierced the other day, the woman said I looked more scared than my friend

I can't watch people get piercings but I it doesn't bother me to get them done. It's odd. I guess as long as I don't have to see it, I'm fine.

I need help.
I got an industrial in April, and I have a keloid in one hole and another one forming in the other. I've been using tea tree oil, but it hasn't really been doing anything... should I start sea soaking it again, also?
I'd just like to know what everyone here says before I go to a doctor/back to the piercing place.

Okay, so, school started Thursday and I had to change my eyebrow barbell [the one I got it pierced with] to a retainer. It's been five weeks, and all seems healed and all. But I have a problem.

The retainer, and well, all of the other barbells I have to change it to later, don't really fit well. They're very tight. I've compared my piercing with a friend of mine's, and I'm pretty sure the length between the holes is larger than hers. The retainer and barbells don't fit comfortably. Actually, the first day with the retainer, my eyebrow swelled very painfully, with no room for it to do so.

I was wondering if anyone knew if/where I could get barbells with longer bars than the usual.

Also, on a sort of side note...should it be very hard to screw on the balls when putting a barbell in? I tried for a while, but the ball was so small, I just couldn't get it to screw on.

^ Yeap, it can, and it probably will. Cartilage + Gun = Just don't do it.

Huck:
EDIT: Oh and what do you lovely people think of these? Apparently it's good to stretch with steel first? *clueless*

Yeah, it's recommended that you stretch with steel. My friend's stretched with acrylic because she just liked the plugs and tapers, and hers are fine though. I think steel's just preferred because it's cleaner and the acrylic can release toxins.

About the crescents, I've heard people say not to stretch with them before. I'm not sure why.
Maybe someone else could clear that up for me
Cute

It's because they're not the same size all around, and can sometimes stretch unevenly.

My friend asked me to pierce his lip for him, I have everything I need. The clamp. The needle. The jewlery. I'm actually, also learning how to pierce from my sister's ex-boyfriend and my piercer.

I'm very nervous about doing it for him. Any last minute tips?

Keep up with your salt soaks, use 100% tea tree oil three times a day, hold the qtip on for a few seconds, treat it as if you are using the tea tree oil as a bathing lotion ... you can get products to treat keloids but if it doesn't go away in about two weeks do go see your doctor.

I couldn't watch my friend get her lip pierced the other day, the woman said I looked more scared than my friend, and I just tried to watch a video of soemone getting a dermal implant thing and my face was OMG NO! for the first minute, then I had to close it because I felt faint. -___-

Grr I think I have a fear of needles. But I figure, if I can't see them, they're not there. So when I get piercings on myself, it's fine, because I usually can't see it.

Point of this- I was wondering if anyone had ever had a dermal implant thing, and could tell me what it felt like when is was being done?

I was thinking of getting two in the middle of my chest, just above where my bra thing is.

Alright then, I have a dermal anchor on my wrist and I tell you make sure the piercer uses a dermal punch, it is the superior way of doing things, if they use a needle go find somewhere else, because that can cause alot of un needed trauma to your anchor.

As for the actual procedure, it is a total breeze and virtually painless, a hole is cut into your skin with the punch and a little foot is slipped under then the lip is screwed on, keep it wrapped up for about two weeks, obviously letting it air for a while every day and keep it clean like a normal piercing, these take about eight months to fully anchor into your skin but if you get an infection don't thin twice about it GO TO YOUR DOCTOR because it can turn to something serious alot faster then a regular piercing.

But you'll love it, seriously.

If you are learning, get him to come into the parlour you're learning at and make sure your piercer is watching you at all times and is there for help, it's what they are for, but if you are just doing it at home ... don't do it. You have no idea how unclean a home it.

Think

I think she means, if you're actually getting it.
Because all they do is clamp the piercing place, push the needle through and you have to wait a moment before they put the jewelry in. It's rather quick. Cute

We're talking about dermal implants, they don't use a needle (well they shouldn't) they use a dermal punch. Shifty I know piercings are a breeze, I have several.

It definitely sounds like you need a longer length barbell (and maybe even a smaller guage one).
There's a really good site, www.bodyjewelleryshop.com, that I've ordered from before. They do a load of different guage steel barbells in various different lengths, so you might wanna have a look on there!
I would say return to where you got it pierced and ask them to fit the correct length barbell for you, but seeing as it sounds like they didn't use the correct length in the first place, maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to go back there. Alternatively, you could try and find another piercing place near you with a good reputation. For a small fee + the cost of the jewellery, I'm sure you'd be able to talk with a piercer about what size jewellery you should be wearing, and get them to change it for you.

For stretching, the spirals you use, do they cover like a few sizes? I'm too broke to buy loooads of tapers.

Well, why would soccer get in the way of that?
Or are there certain restrictions?

Some sports require that you aren't wearing any jewellery, I suppose. But I don't think an ear cartilage piercing would get in the way while playing soccor, unless the school/club you're playing with make you take it out...or soccor with said team is just really violent o.O.
