And even if the piercings weren't covered, they weren't going to stop me in the middle of the game to tell me to take the studs/hoops out. |

| Gravity Thrill Fanfic Fanatic Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 1591 | I have a ball closure ring and I find it really hard to use. I can get the little ball out fine but I find it really hard to get it back in. Any suggestions? |
| Mrs.Halloween Amateur Author Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 137 | ^ You can buy special jewellery pliars that are specifically for opening and closing ball closure rings/captive bead rings. You can usually find them at a good online jewellery store. Other than that, maybe get a different type of jewellery. (I share your predicaments with such rings Dx). And varkatzas., I wasn't being defensive, (I'm far too aware that miscommunication via the internet is a common problem, believe me), I was just making it clear that my previous comment had been aimed as an answer to xXFireXx's question, as opposed to a remark towards you. I didn't really think I was the one being defensive. But it's hardly important, anyways. |

| C_annibal Ink Slinger Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 788 | Gravity Thrill: Or, if you look at the actual ball you will notice that one dimple is smaller then the other, the easiest way I find is to cradle the bigger ball into one end of the ring and snap the other into place, even if you get pliers you still have to get the ball in there. |
| Exquisite. Fanfic Fanatic Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 2180 | C_annibal:I've been struggling with this for ages, thank you so much for enlightening us, lol. Seriously though, even now I know one dimple is smaller than the other and everything; it's still really hard to do because I've got one of those in the upper cartilage of my ear and I can't really see it. ![]() I had my friend do it, though, and I'm contemplating never ever taking it out again. |
| C_annibal Ink Slinger Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 788 | Exquisite Corpse.: Ha, yer I had one also with BCR in it, that was before I had it cut out to 4mm, but the more you do it, the more you'll get used to doing it, I find also the bigger the actually ball is, the easier it is to snap into place. |
| nico; narcotic Amateur Author Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 132 | I have a question about ear stretching. I recently went from a 6 gauge to a 4 gauge. I left the time from going up a size the same as I normally do [2-3 weeks]. Yesterday when I took my stretcher out to clean, I noticed there was a fleshy ring around the hole. It's slightly risen above the surface in comparison to the rest of the lobe and the hole itself seems to be oozing a clear fluid. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what may have happened to it, I'm not quite sure if it's a blowout or not? I've never had this problem when i've gone up a size before. It would be really appreciated if anyone could give any advice on what I could perhaps do to get the lobe back to normal. |
| Skitty; impaled. Cliché Catastrophe Age: 16 Gender: Male Posts: 670 | ![]() I really want teardrops. ![]() But because they're surface piercings, it would basically be a waste of money. I can't afford to keep getting them re-pierced and I'm way too afraid to have them not done professionally. |

| Mrs.Halloween Amateur Author Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 137 | ^ I do. Pain questions are hard to answer because each person has a different threshold to pain. Mines wasn't anything more than just slightly uncomfortable, but that's not to say that you could get it done and it'd be painless. Generally though, I don't think it's a very 'painful' piercing. The worst part is the aftercare, I think, it can be hard to look after because it's in a bit of an awkward place. But if you can't make up your mind about getting it over the fear of pain, I'd say just go for it! ShotgunWedding: It doesn't necessarily sound like you have a blowout, but it definitely seems your ear hasn't taken well to the new stretch. I'd recommend doing sea salt soaks twice a day. SSS consists of about a 1/4 teaspoon of pure sea salt [not regular table salt] to a cup of warm water, and then soaking a cotton pad in this and cleaning your ear with it. It's also a good idea to massage your ears after cleaning them with something like vitamin E oil, or a cocoa butter moisturiser, something that'll help keep your ears healthy and reduce any scar tissue that might form because of you having problems. But the sea salt soaks, most definitely, that should help the healing a lot. |
| nico; narcotic Amateur Author Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 132 | ^ Thank you for the advice. I'll try the sea salt soak and vitamin E oil |
| varkatzas. fake the happiness. Age: 27 Gender: Male Posts: 5221 | ^ If that doesn't work, try to go down to the last size and wait a few weeks until you stretch. For future reference, wait a month or two between stretches to be safe. |
| C_annibal Ink Slinger Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 788 | Se7en: Yeah and they leave heavy scarring, BUT if you really want something along the lines of that, try dermal anchors, they aren't surface piercings and they only have a 2% rejection rate. |
| C_annibal Ink Slinger Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 788 | gerontophobia.: It really isn't that bad, just a slight pinch, nothing too dramatic, pleasant really. |
| Snookums Writer's Block Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 22 | I have a monroe. And, I love it! I love how it feels, look, everything lol. But, it does take a while to heal. =D |
| C_annibal Ink Slinger Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 788 | Snookums: But as with all lip related piercings, we have to watch out for gum erosion |
| Maxwell Green. Cliché Catastrophe Age: 69 Gender: Female Posts: 551 | Ahh, I have a problem D: I have a terrible pain threshold. I only realized I did after I got an industrial pierced back in April. Now, this won't stop me from getting more piercings, because even though I don't take pain very well, the pain is worth it to me and I don't mind it. BUT. I need some way I can control it so that the more painful piercings in the future won't cause me to pass out. What can I do to make sure I can handle the pain? Is it ok to take, like, Tylenol? Should I eat before I get a piercing? |
