and you know Ratcliffe..they fat guy off of pocahontas?

1512: Gerhardus Mercator, cartographer, probably the greatest map-maker of all time, was born in Rupelmond, Flanders (now Belgium).
1751: James Madison, the 4th President of the United States (1809-1817), was born in Port Conway, Virgina.
1770: Boston Massacre took place, in which British troops fired into a mob, killing 5 — one of the events leading up to the War of Independence.
1824: James Merrit Ives, lithographer (of Currier & Ives fame) was born.
1872: The triple air brake was patented by George Westinghouse.
1922: Annie Oakley, star attraction in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, set record for woment's trap shooting, 98/100 at Pinehurst Gun Club, North Carolina.
1924: Computing-Tabulating-Recording Corp becomes IBM.
1933: In Germany, the Nazis and their Nationalist allies receieve 52% of the seats in Reichstag. (This is the last free election until the end of World War II) |
