Remember, they have art on them. And I never get enough when I stare at the CD art- The music may be crap, but if the art is good, I'll put it up on my wall.
Plus, I have an MD player, a CD player, and those two are better than an iPod. iPods tend to ruin the quiality of the CD; the re-formatting of teh audio file to a classic MP3 file destroys the basic sounds, and I have sensitive ears.
CDs, ladies and gents. All the way.
Cover art is so fun. I love reading everything and looking over ever inch of it. If tehre are words, I read them all. Anythign and everythign has to be looked and and read. They are so much fun. Plus, sometimes they come with the words!
Not all iPods convert the file. I have many m4a songs still. Most haven't been converted. The only mp3 songs I have were downloaded. |

ipods can't replace CDs.
I mean, I love buying a CD and then settling down to study the cover art.
With ipods, you can't do it.
I do love my ipod, but I'll only use it when I'm out.
At home, the CD player is forever on.

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 850 | August 8th, 2008 at 12:49am I spend so much time on the computer, it's either iTunes or my iPod, if I can't get to the computer or something, I'll still use my stereo.
I use to use my mums walkman that played CD's, way before I got an MP3 player, I basically started at the bottom rung of the technology ladder to be honest.
Nothing could ever replace CD's for me though. As for my iPod destroying the sound? It does no such thing, I think your headphones are more likely to be the problem there, seeing as I heard a background noise on one of the songs on my iPod earlier that I hadn't heard before, not even when it was the CD. I have good quality earphones. |

Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 66 | August 8th, 2008 at 07:47pm I love CD's and I love my iPod. I generally buy a CD or buy a song off of iTunes rather than downloading music. But I prefer using my iPod over a CD player; before I got my iPod I'd always have to buy batteries for my CD player and it got annoying, expensive and it was bothersome carrying my walkman around with me because you can't just shove it in your pocket like an iPod. The bad thing about my iPod is that I filled mine up way too quickly. I need to get a higher GB one. |

CDs just make me look stupid, I mean, imagine fumbling through your CDs on the tube (subway)? How silly would you look? I mean c'mon. |

See if you can get an older one.
The new ones aren't that much fun.
My older one has lasted longer than some of my friends' new ipods. |

Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 602 | August 12th, 2008 at 12:11pm I love my 'pod, but I also love buying CDs and playing them for the first time in my stereo at home. Then I'll usually transfer it onto my ipod.
However, I eventually think stereos and the like will eventually become defunct. Our technology will continue to evolve, just like it evolved from the old school records, to compact discs etc. |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 115 | August 16th, 2008 at 07:09pm CD players last longer... My CD player still works after 4 and a half years. I don't know how long my iPod will last. It's nice to have all of my CDs in one tiny thing but tbh, when I'm out I'll just listen to one CD over and over for a while (yep, weird). And I love just holding CDs. Plus, the back of my CD player never got scratched. It's indesructable (I've dropped it a couple of times too). My iPod is more jog-proof though. Sometimes my CD player jumps when I'm running. |

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 1 | August 17th, 2008 at 02:27am I enjoy my iPod, but when I'm not on the move, I like listening to music on my boom box, or when I'm in the car, the car's CD player. I'd rather have the CD than just the song on the iPod because with a CD, it's like, there. Physical proof. With an iPod, a song is just basically a file. It's there, but it's not there. If that made any sense at all. |

Not necessarily; my ipod has lasted longer than four CD players. It really all depends on how you take care of it and if you bought it new or used. |
