Twilight is just okay.
I think she should have ended it with the first one.
It's all just so prediciable.

I mean Twilight should have just been one book, not a series.
I thought the first one was okay. You know that part at the beginning of New Moon where Jasper tries to attack Bella at her birthday party? It says she was staring up at a bunch of suddenly ravenous vampires (or something like that). I thought that would have been a good ending. Kind of a cliffhanger, I guess.

Yes, Twilight is cliche. Yes, Bella is Mary-Sue. Yes, Edward is too perfect. But I still love the book. Sometimes all a person wants is a good love story, including me. Even though the book is full of cliche's, like plain old Bella falling in love with amazing Edward, yada-yada, it's still good in my eyes. It's hard to explain exactly why the Twilight series is one of my favorites, but it is. And with Bella being Mary-Sue, well she's not the only novel character like that. Hermoine from Harry Potter could also be one.

I do sort-of agree that Twilight could have been left as a standalone. It would be a great little book, with a end that didn't explain everything. But it being in a series also means more Edward XD.

Okay, we get the point. You hate the book.

Twiligh fans know that Bella is hopeless and weak. She needs Edward. But he needs her too. Their love and the dramas that go with it is what makes the books good.

You don't have to like the books, but you don't have to flaunt that.
I know that I am a hypocritical cliche- loving Twilight fan, and I'm happy that way.

SO leave us alone.

~Threnody

Why should I leave? I have just as much right to be on this thread as you. I'm giving facts and reason behind my opinion and not just saying it sucks.

You're flaunting that you love this book, why can't I do the same in my opinion? Where does it say I can't? It doesn't. As long as I'm not dropping names or putting anyone down I can say whatever I want. I've been following the rules, therefore I'll leave when I want.

ragdoll.:

I second that. It's time to grow up and stop being so childish by doing nothing but hating on the book. There are plenty of things I hate out there, yet I don't sit on Mibba threads of them and rant. Wink

I'm not ranting. If I were I'd make journal after journal saying how much I hate the thing. But I don't. Why? Because that's childish.
I don't sit around hating this book for no reason. Go back and read my other posts as to why I don't like this story. I have reasons unlike those childish tweens that hate it to be different.
No, it doesn't do anything to hate a book. It doesn't to anything to like a book either. I respect your opinion of liking it. Respect mine. Stop telling my to grow up and respect others opinion. I do. If I didn't I'd say everyone who likes this book is a retard. I don't. I have nothing against people who love this. Hell, my best friend loves this book. She's still my best friend. I don't care what others read. I care about how they act towards people who like different things.
That's being grown up - not telling me to be and to stop saying what I think while I should let you. =]

That's an interesting concept. I think that one book would have been a good idea, but maybe she felt more satisfyed writing it as a series. XD

I just finished Breaking Dawn. Well, I did yesterday.
I feel lost now. xD

I adore the Twilight books. They're real interesting I think because I mean, they're my favorite published books but at the same time, there's a lot I dislike about them. It's like, all their flaws put together make this really dynamic book that adds a lot to the story and is just generally really wonderful.
I do dislike Bella but that adds dynamic to the story as well.
It's like, I love them but I can't put my finger on why, I just do, so much.

Shit Christ almighty.
I loved it.

I had doubts, of course. I read the damn thing in two days. I loved the description.
I will admit, some parts were a bit TOO describable, but whatever.
I then bought New Moon, read that in a day. I'm patiently (yeah, right) to get Eclipse.

Gahhhh. XD

I've read the whole series and found them good.
I mean, it is one of my favourite books, but it's wrong on so many levels if you know what I mean, lmfao. I think it's just the idea of a fantasy romance that we all want, but I guess if you look into it.. Who would want someone to stalk you or won't let you see your male bestfriend?

But heyyy. Like I said, it's wrong on so many levels.. maybe that's what I love about it. Saying that, I love anything with romance in... well almost anything. Maybe it was too cliche that it became good in my eyes?

I actually, don't know what I like about this book, I could list so many things I disliked, but I loved it still. I do feel the connection between Edward and Bella. I think that's what makes the books so amazing to read. I read all 4 in 4 days.

I only wanted to read it because so many people thought it was good, and I've wanted to do a vampire story for ages so I thought I'll read the book to make sure I don't follow in them steps.

But yet.. I love it... and I'm really excited to see the movie.

Okay, the Twilight book series is all right. Frankly, I don't see why you guys are falling all over it. I used to be an Edward groupie, but I grew up and realized how stupid I was being. It's a book, there's no way in hell that Bella is going to die, leaving you to be with Edward. It's just too predictable, they're going to end up happy and together in the end (though, admittedly, Breaking Dawn had some surprises). The writing style is simple, almost too much so because she randomly throws in words such as 'scrutinized' and 'acerbic' with the mediocre vocabulary.

I'm not saying it's a terrible book series, it just doesn't deserve the praise that it's getting.

OOH, and I seriously think they screwed up the casting for the Twilight Movie. I'm going to see it just to criticize. ;D

I love Twilight but I totally agree with most of the stuff you're saying like about the vocabulary and the series being overrated. I also don't like the people they casted for the movie, but I want to see it anyway.

Breaking Dawn was okay, but personally I think the series should have ended with Twilight.

I think she should have stopped with Twilight.
Or at least not written New Moon File

New Moon and Eclipse are both kinda dull to me. Breaking Dawn is interesting, but Meyer crowds too many events into that one book. But that's just my opinion...
