My school has them, and I love it when we have practise drills, 'cause we're supposed to be quiet but nobody gives a damn so we just talk normally while sitting under our desks like n00bs. tehe

My school had a real one this year, and it was the first time I've experienced one since I've been in school. It was scary for all of us. We had no clue what was going on, and text messages were flying with escalating rumors. Someone said the SWAT team was here, the other said it was a custody case. The big one was that a student got shot in the science wing. Not true, but the rumor even got out to the radio, which stupidly broadcasted "A student has been shot" and caused mass hysteria with the parents.

I was walled up in the Fashion room, one of the safest in the building, and nobody had a clue what was going on, even the teacher. It turns out it was because this kid was threatining to go on a shooting spree at my school, but only told that to his girlfriend. When they found the guy he was nowhere near the school, and didn't have a gun on hand. He was letting off steam. But we did nearly have another one the next day, after someone spray painted the dumpster with warnings of a massacre at our school that day. There were cops everywhere though.

On the bright side, the lockdown day I missed math class, we got another lunch hour, and we did nothing in the one period that remained (I was stupid enough to stay).

We've hd them before too. It's code blue though. We have the drills once a semester.

Once last year there was a bomb threat on our school district we had a lockdown with chains and everything it was fun and scary.

During my lockdown half the class had to pee really badly, so my Fashion teacher made a toilet in the huge closet with a trash can and a huge tupperware container. Good times.

I love lockdowns, for some reason.

We don't have codes at our school, though. It's just a siren, kinda like the fire alarm, but it sounds a little different. This year, we had one drill, but we've been told. Last year we had about three, and one or two were real, I think.

We pretty much close the blinds, shut the fuck up, and hide wherever we can. The teacher locks the door, everything is left where it is, and phones are turned off.

The first time we had a drill, my class was in homeroom. My teacher was so cool about it, she just got four of us to close the blinds and the rest of us hid. Some of us crammed into the teacher's office with the kids next door, and those who were in the storage closet got forgotten about. :tehe

The second time, we were in homeroom again, and we had a lcokdown because some kid in my grade decided to run around with a plank of wood full of nails.

The third was the scariest. We were in the computer lab in the South building, and there were workers across the courtyard with chainsaws. Even the guys were nearly crying.

I actually love lockdowns. It gets us like twenty minutes of just sitting around whispering with each other.
But this one time in 7th grade we were having a lockdown and I was just wandering the halls. I thought it was a drill so I just kept walking around. But then teachers started running around with their walkie talkies and crap. One of them grabbed me and was all like.
"We're in the middle of a lock down what are you doing?! You could have died!"
Well apparently it was a real lockdown. There were some drunk guys down the street with guns or something so the school was in a real lockdown.
The principal made me sit through an hour long movie about school safety and I got a one day suspension.
It was interesting.

In the second grade, our school had a lockdown because there was an "unidentified and possibly dangerous person on campus."
It turned out to be the janitor's wife.

Other than that, though, we don't really have lockdowns at my school. We're in a relatively safe area, and none of the "gangs" are stupid enough to think they'll be able to bypass security. Except for the Janitor's Wife Incident, the only lockdowns I've been through have been drills. We've got different bells for different emergencies (ie, one short bell = fire, one long bell = flood, etc) but I don't think we've ever actually used them.

My middle school was put on lockdown once, because there was a guy on our roof. It was really scary. We couldn't leave class until the cops searched the entire school/school grounds.

We have that but instead we'll call it like Level one or level 2 and level one we have to lock the door and but paper over it so no one can see in and we keep doing our work, level 2 is were we lock the door put paper over it turn off the lights and get under our desks and stay away from the doors and windows.

I feel quite left out, we never have stuff like this. The most excitement I get at school is from a fire drill....And we dont even have to worry if there is a nuclear leak either....my school is the oppitamy of boring!

We've never had a fire drill at my school while i've been there..
All we have is signs, telling us what to do if it actually does happen.

I love it when we have drills because we all go out in the hallway and people scream absurd things, and stuff like that. Plus, it gives us like a fifteen minute distraction from our lessons.

We have fire bells and intruder alarms.

They are 2 different types of bell, but no one can tell the difference.

One is fire, which means get out.
The other is intruder, which means lock yourself in a classroom...
if we all got it wrong you could see how that could be a disaster...

We have them at my school. We turn off the lights lock the doors and hide so we can't be seen when someone looks through the windows.

We've also got bomb drills. Which unfortunatly we have all the time *sighs* It's stupid the whole student body is directed to go out side and sit in the stands by the football field, if anybody really wanted to hurt us would they not just put something dangerous down there?

And of course there is the fire alarm drills, and the earthquake drills, and tornado drills. When we actually had a real tornado drill half the girls were crying because they though they were going to die. How sad is that?

My school is....it's just aweful
We don't have special alarms....we do. But we never use them. The principal just gets on the intercom and says it.....like last year we had someone with a gun on campus and he came on the intercom and said, An intruder has been found on campuss...please go into lockdown.
One time we had a rapist try to pick up some kids but a girl used her cell phone to call the police.
And another is some kid threatened to shoot a bunch of people......wow....my school is bad Smoke

when we had the rapist...our intercom in my teachers room didn't work. So we thought it was just a drill. But most people were still pretty quiet. And then some kid justy yelled penis and we couldn't stop laughing. But after the lockdown our class had to go watch these scary ass videos on what could've happened mrgun
