We had a lockdown because some guy robbed a seven eleven two streets away. D:

We have to close the blinds, lock the doors, turn off the lights and stay in a place where nobody can see us from the windows, like under the teacher's desk or someplace like that. For like three periods. xD

I've never been in a lockdown before.

But, I think the teachers should be worried about the students in the school tehe. Yeah, people liked to blow up stuff when I was at my high school (I left it a few months later).

I remember at my middle school we had a fire, like a proper one. We all had to leg it XD. Kind of off topic I think :S.

EDIT: Wow I just remembered something! I remember that there was a lockdown at my high school a year before I attended it, because there was an actual bomb there. Some idiot brought in one for show and tell or something lmfao . So they had to blow it up and everything, fucking hilarious even though I wasn't there XD.

The students at my highschool liked blowing up things tehe

I love lockdowns! In my school, the receptionist or whomever is in the office working behind the desk goes over the intercom and says "This is a lockdown!" Plain and simple. Each classroom has an area where we all sit and hide. The Teacher normally locks the door, and then comes to sit with us. So far, all we've had were drills. Thank God. i guess if you're in the hall, you find the closest occupied classroom, and go in with them. We don't have any "codes" just "this is a lockdown" and we all go to the designated spot in the classroom. (:

My school has them! We mainly have drills. The receptionist or who ever is working the desk in the main office goes over the intercom and says "This is a lock down!" We then have to go to the designated corner in the classroom, and sit there with our mouths shut (which is really hard for me.) The Teacher usually locks any of the doors in the room. Some classrooms at my school have no blinds, so we usually duck under that window. Most have some type of corny education poster over the window on the doors, but sometimes the Teacher and Teacher's Aid have to cover them up with paper. If you're in the hallway or bathroom, you're suppose to find the closest occupied classroom and join them. Naughty

We rarely have lock downs though. Mostly drills. There's a few kids I talk to and know that always say which Student is crazy enough to bring a gun or any other weapon to school. I believe them.

The closest to any type of dangerous drill my school has had was some type of gas leak. I think i was in 6th or 7th grade. My Science teacher smelt something odd. He wandered around the room, sniffing. He then realized it smelt like gas, and jogged to the office to tell the principal and receptionist. The fire alarm went off (I think) and they made us walk up to the elementary school, and sit in the gym for the rest of the day. Probably about..3-4 hours? I forget. There was fire trucks and all that crap. I really wanted to leave, but they wouldn't let anyone go except people who took the bus. Ugh. I was so close to throwing a fit. Lmfao.

Edit:

I just remembered! Last year, during P.E (gym) I was changing in the girls locker room, when the fire alarm went off. I was like "WTF?" the locker room's really do echo any sound, so the fire alarm randomly going off was so loud! I had just gotten my shorts on, thank god! We had to go outside, down the tiny hill, and stand on the front soccer field for...5 or 10 minutes. It was sometime after winter, so it was so freaking cold! I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts! Then, we had to cross the street and go into the mall to an upstairs area where they put us if it's a really serious, or the weather is horrible. I remember looking out the window, and seeing police cars driving into the school parking lot' they lined up outside. When we walked back to school, we saw dogs in the back of the cruisers (drug/bomb sniffing dogs) . The scary part is, when I was going to class from break, there were three packages outside the main office. i swear I heard one ticking it could of been me being paranoid though.

I assume they were just doing some drug sniffing and what not. There's a few kids in my school that do drugs.

Blah. My school is idiotic. We have no codes whatsoever and I find our area very unsafe. I mean seriously, I can point out like 5 drug spots...from standing on my porch. If that does not indicate there is something dangerous going on in town, I have no clue what is. How about how we are right next to a town where crime happens almost daily? I think that is a big thing to. But we never have a lock down of any kind. Drill or real.

Well, let's see. There was the one fire drill that was real, and the lockdown (both last year) that i'm STILL not sure if it was real or not.

But all the other times the fire drill went off last year (which was A LOT), and we wouldnt know if it was an actual drill or not, so the teacher would say to stay, and the principal would come on and say that we were supposed to be evacuating. It was hilarious

Then there was the time in a lockdown that someone was sat IN FRONT OF THE DOOR.

She said, "But mister, i'm going to get shot." (it was a sub)

"Well, your friends will miss you."

!!!!!!!!!

-shakes head- idiots.

we do have a lockdown program. we almost had to use it a couple weeks ago. a suicidal mental patient had escaped from an insane asylum with a gun. he made it about two miles from the school before he turned around and went the other way.

We had it once in class as a drill. During 3/4 Biology. We sat underneath the desks but the teacher still insisted on teaching us. I just passed skittles around the entire time. XD

I have lock down programs at my school, along with all the codes and drills.
Personally, they seem like a waste because we hardly ever to get to practice and when the time comes for a real emergency no one, hardly, follows procedure.

With the lock downs, I think that's not a great idea. All you're doing is turning out the lights (won't do much for the killer, he'll still check the classrooms), locking the door (which won't be of much help considering he has firearms), and putting everyone in a corner and tell them to be quiet until someone comes and gets us and says everything is fine again (if the killer gets in the classroom, which he will, he already has his victims all together in one spot, easily accessible). The worst thing, is that we couldn't get out of the classroom; our only escape is through the door. Our windows are high up, touching the ceiling, and I don't even think you can open them, let alone fit through them. My school wants their students to die, it seems like. Wink

We've had bomb threats. Two actually.
Everyone thought we were going to die.
So we have codes for those too now, along with fire drills, crazy person in the building alerts, and gas/chemical leak alerts. And weather alerts, like if the wind is blowing too hard it can shatter windows, so we have those too.

We've never had a legtimate lockdown, but we have had drills. We just kind of stay as far away from the doors as possible and shut the hell up. XD We have one each year as part of Safety Week actually. File

We had a lockdown only once, and it was stupid.

There were these two guys that came from the school right next to us, walked in, and went aruond the school searching for a friend. Then we were put into lockdown, which was gay, cause they weren't even dangerous, they had us lock doors and everything.

But I must say, it wasted loys of class time, less learning for me Cute

We had a lockdown yesterday. It was stupid, lasted from the second half of the second block to the rest of the day. We were told that no one was to leave the classrooms, & if they had to go to the bathroom or something, they had to call down to our house offices & get an escort. Once we got home, the principals called our houses and everything, telling us 'the rumors are not true'.

Turns out, we were on lockdown today as well, at least I think.

The rumors were that a girl was supposed to get killed today, as initiation into the Bloods and that there was supposed to be a shooting.

Really, I've been scared to go to school. I'm very paranoid. My school has a bad reputation, & I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened.

Last year, the year before I entered the school, they were on lockdown the whole entire day, & the S.W.A.T. team was there. Something about a bomb, or a shooting, I don't really know.

I hate most of the kids that go to my school. Ugh. Finger

We practice them in school, usually during the beginner of the year so the freshmen learn and all the upperclassmen remember it.

They're usually pretty hardcore, for Code Reds (someone potentially harmful on campus) we actually have to barricade the doors and someone comes and sees if they can break down or climb through our barricade.

I'm glad that nothing like this has ever happened at our school, but to me it seems that we're prepared.

We only do fire drills at our school. We also did earthquake drills in primary school as our country is riddled with fault lines.

The most serious non-drill was over burnt toast. Oh, and a 7th form prank one year was setting off the alarm.

We had a lock down today. Sad they aren't taken seriously.
