I get it normally and I cant understand why, maybe its because I have so much running through my head that I panic at the thought of having to do all of it, I have no idea.

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 800 | August 28th, 2008 at 05:53am I've struggled a lot with anxiety and insomnia, which often comes along with it. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be really helpful if it gets to be really disruptive and severe.
Also, just stepping back and looking at things in perspective can really help. For example, if you're worrying about a homework assignment, think about how much this one measly assignment matters in the long run. Thing of how many other assignments will get factored into your final grade. Think about how many other opportunities you'll in future classes have to get better grades. Think about how one day, when you're done with school, none of this will matter. Think about how insignificant you are compared with the universe and whatnot.
It's an odd way of thinking, but it really helps me combat anxiety. |

Age: 18 Gender: Female Posts: 14 | August 29th, 2008 at 12:45am I completely understand what you're saying. Honestly, I'm a nervous freak. I'm CONSTANTLY panicked and stressed. I think that we all just get overwhelmed with things every once in a while, and it affects some of us far more than others. Like Deceptive Cadence said, just step back and think about what really matters in the long run, rather it be school related or not. It truly helps to rid yourself of the contributing factors. Really, most of the things that we all stress over aren't worth worrying about. I've realized lately that there's a lot of people in my life that cause me to be stressed out and anxious. After realizing that, I just decided that it was best for me to filter out the bad, so I did. I try to only surround myself with people that won't cause problems and stress me out, I try to have a relaxed approach to school and take one thing at a time.
Whatever it is that's bothering you, there's some way that you can fix it.
haha, this is lame, but a friend of mine used to say it all the time.

Age: 14 Gender: Female Posts: 831 | August 30th, 2008 at 06:08am I have some really bad anxiety. It would interfere with me being able to go to school and I would have to leave because of it. I never felt well, I would constantly be sick, I would have anxiety and panic attacks, I would not talk too much at all in fear of embarrassing my self. I even had to leave school on one occasion because I wearing a skirt and everyone was talking about me because it was so cold out and I was wearing it, I started to feel nauseous, I started shaking and gagging, so I called my mother and had to go home. I missed a lot of school. Now I am on anti-depressants for anxiety, since they are a little less addictive than anti-anxiety pills. I have only been on the pills for just a week but they are working fairly well already. I have had anxiety problems for a long time but they peaked and got worse in 8th grade. I am a freshman (9th grader) now. I wouldn't honestly get anything for it unless it is very severe. |

In my experiences and from what my mom has told me thinking just makes it worse and I agree. With me I always have this thing where I think at night and that effects the way that I sleep. Thinking about all the things you have to do just puts more stress and makes everything worse. |

Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 102 | September 11th, 2008 at 07:05am I get anxious of the smallest things. Like walking into class late. I get so freaked out... I stand outside of the room and talkmyself into walking in. I'm always trying to get to class on time just to avoid getting stared at. Sometimes I ghet anxious walking in on time... I don't want to be to early because the teachers like to talk to me. (unless its english.. I like my english teacher.)
Either way... I get anxious over everything. It's kind of sad |
