Extended Family (Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, In-Laws, ETC)

I only have two sets of Aunts & Uncles, because both my parents both were raised in two child homes, and both of them had sisters. However, I have a good amount of cousins. On my mom's side, my cousins are younger, so we're not close. On my dad's side, we're all similar in age, but they're just kind of... strange (just ask Feeling Failure :tehe:), so we don't really "hang out" a lot. However, I have a few distant cousins who I'm very close to. The one I'm closest to though, is my cousin Jake. He's a few years older than I am, but we have very similar tastes in music, and we're both "musically inclined", so we pretty much click. We go to shows together, and get together at the music store and jam out sometimes. :cute:

I love him very much.

So, do you enjoy your extended family? Do you have a large extended family? Are you close?

I have a large extended family but they are located in so many different places. We are not particularly close either. I dunno, our family is the type to more live their own separate lives. :think:
I'm stuck right in the middle with my cousin's too. I'm the only one of my age group. They are all either babies or primary kids or in their late twenties having kids. -sigh-

Meh. I'm closest to my second cousin , only because she's in my year.

I usually block out most of my dad's side of the family , and my mum's live in London , so I'm not especially close to any of my extended family.

I don't have any.

My extended family aren't that close. But I suppose it's better off that way as everyone seems to hate someone and it just causes tension when we're all brought together. I'm kinda like sunshines with my cousins, I only have three, and two are a lot younger and one is older.

It's weird that one of my best friends is my grandad's girlfriend's grand-daughter, and if they got married, we'd be step cousins. We class each other as cousins, so I guess I'm closest to her.

I have an enormous extended family, but I'm not extremely close with them. Not when I get to the second-cousins part, anyway.
As far as aunts, uncles, and regular cousins go, however, I suppose that I'm relatively close to them. It's just difficult, because my house family lives far away from all of them, and even farther from my dad's cousins in the Northeast, or my mom's cousins by the Great Lakes. It sucks, too, because I have some second cousins that I think have great friendly potential. : [

But I've said this before in other threads. I have a cousin who is a few months older than me, and he's practically our brother. Our home is his haven, so he visits as often and for as long as he can. A lot of people think that we're twins, which is kind of fun for me. : D

I have a massive extended family.
It's annoying.

Same, my family is HUGE.
I'm not very close to them expect for a select few.
During parties or gatherings, I usually go off somewhere and read.

I really only get along with my Dad's side of the family,
which is perfectly fine by me.
My Mom's side is more interested, erm, in one of my brothers, because he's really smart. I'm more average.

i basically only see my mom's side. they're cool.

my dad's side is like psychotic. the only sane people are my cousin and mi abuela. i barely even see my dad..which is good.

I have a very large extended family. My dad has five brothers and three sisters, one of my aunts has 7 children, plus the grandkids. There were six cousins born my same year, so we've been close. There are also cousins that were born either a year later or earlier than I as well. My cousin and I had our children the same year as well.

We're all fairly close. My family used to live in a different state but we moved so my dad could be close to his brothers. We tend to spend every christmas and new year together whenever. You can only imagine how chaotic the house is.

My mothers side of the family is also large. She has five sisters and one brother. They live scattered around the states though. She only has two sisters that live in the same state as us. We're close to them, but I am a lot closer with my father's side of the family.

I actually I have a fairly large extended family but my dad's side is awkward to be around. I'm a lot more like them personality wise but they're still adjusting to their neice/granddaunter/cousin changing from little monkey sweatshirting wearing thing, to how I am now.
My favorite family member is my cousin, William.
He's three months older than me.
We sit and make fun of the rest of the family and our crazy Gramma.

I have six grandma's, two dads, one mom, a few aunts and uncles, and three gramps.

On my fathers side of the family, I have ten aunts/uncles, which leaves me with over thirty cousins. Most of them live within an hour of me so we're all relatively close; there's no feuds or anything like that, so it's not awkward to be around them.

And then on my mom's side, I have exactly one uncle... leaving me one cousin. :XD I'm not as close to them as I am my other cousin's, simply because Jordan is younger than me by about six years.

Massive extended family and not close with any of them. I don't even KNOW all of them. For all I know, I could be living next to a relative of mine and not know it.

On my mums side I have an enormous extended family. I think, all together, there's nearly 200 of us. Most of them live in Durham/Newcastle. A lot of them I've never even met. There was one I met about five years ago, and I had to ask my gran if he was real because the memory was so vague I thought I'd imagined him.

I'm really close to my .. immediate extended family, [Uncles, aunts, grandparents etc.]
My mum has two sisters and a brother [but he lives in America.], and they're both very close. They're also close to my grandparents and we all live within a 10-30 minute walk from each others houses o_O. We're always in and out of them too.

I suppose we're quite close too, even though two of my cousins are 7, one is 8 and the other is 13.

I only ever see 4 people from my Dads side, once a year, if that.

I don't have that much extended family, and even the ones I do have and know about...I don't really associate with. My family has always been the outcasts, and the others find some reason to not like us or never see us. I'm not close with any of my extended family anymore. I used to be close to my dad's side...but then something happened a few years ago, leading to my grandmother kind of disowning us, or at least holding a grudge over nothing for a while, and we all kind of drifted apart. Sometimes I wish I were closer to my extended family.

I'm really close to my mom's side because we all live close to each other and have parties/get-togethers alot. It's cool cause from my oldest girl cousin who's 21 to my sister who's 13 we all skip two years in age (21, 19, 17, 15,13) Then my one boy cousin on my mom's side that I see, he's grown up surrounded by girls his whole life, ruined the age thing. But we're all close music, book, style, etc. wise.

I don't really see my dad's side and I think my youngest cousin that isn't a baby on that side is 18 and I don't really see her.

I have a pretty big extended family. None of them live nearby so we don't see them much. I'm fairly close to my uncle but I haven't seen him in a really long time because our last family reunion type thing he was in Antarctica, lucky him. :) I don't connect with my family much. I'm the 'black sheep.'

i never get to see most of my extended family, the all live in the Philippines.
All except my one Auntie and cousin, they live with us.

My dad doesn't have any brothers and sisters, theres on my nana, she lives with us too, but she doesnt remember me, she has memory loss.
