I could teach you to play.
^.^

I have a red Bridgecraft and it's wonderful to me.
Actually, it's my father's but he hasn't played it once since he bought it.
I'm better at it. >.<

Mine is a scarlet Fender Squier that I named Bunny after Mikey Way's cat. I bought it January 2007, but before then I was messing around with a friend's bass, and realizing I liked the sound, decided I wanted one.
I got it used for $180. I know, good deal, right?
It's got a great sound, too.

Um, I can play almost every song on The Black Parade album, but not by heart. I had a binder full of tabs I printed off, and I can't find it. My favorite to play is "Mama" and "This Is How I Disappear."

The first song I ever learned was "I'm Not Okay."

Now I can play "All My Loving" by the Beatles, and I plan on auditioning with it for a youth band I want to be in.

Whalen At The Disco:
Fender Squire Precission Bass, got it for my fourteenth birthday >: D
I had been playing a little bit more than that, but my parents finally got some money rounded up and bought me one In Love

And I decided to ruin the paint on it and scratch this into it...

I don't have the guts to do something like that to my bass. I love her too much. But that really looks cool.

Has anyone ever tried to teach someone how to play bass? My friend wanted me to teach her so I showed her how to read tabs. I don't know what to do after that though.
Anyone have any ideas what I could do next?

Maybe scales? Major, minor and pentatonic. And maybe teach her how to find octaves? Those were the first things I learned. It depends on weather you want to get into theory or not XD

I really want to play bass.
But the lack of money and jobs in our family, is making it hard to buy one.

I've been told that i have small hands though, and that i wouldn't be able to play bass.
Is there really a specific hand size for a bass?

And also. How much does a bass cost? Not a cheapskate one. But a good one.

If it helps, I started out "playing bass" ages ago, until christmas, properly playing a bass, by using the bass strings on an acoustic guitar. XD

I have small hands and I manage Cute I have to do some alternate fingerings, but it's more than possible.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how big your hands are. Mine are tiny yet I can play the big leaps from fret to fret well enough. Having small hands only means you have to be quicker when you change frets

Awesome.
I had to do that when I played the Clarinet. My hands were too small to reach the lower notes.

I've played guitar for about three years, and once I get better at that (maybe a year or so) I really want a bass. I think it's a really cool instrument...and I'm already starting to learn it somewhat (on my guitar.) I find it a bit easier than guitar (well, depending on the song. Maybe not easier...just different. I dunno.)

Yea I think so. Cute
Just, bigger hands are better cause you can reach to wider bits of the threat board easily.
Small hands, big hands, it don't make much of a difference. ^___^
