Limewire is used for sharing files. It's a file sharing program.  I get that, I just don't know what you would share on it, other than music and videos.
I mean, if you had a personal document, you aren't going to send it through Limewire.
So I just don't get what, besides music and videos, is shared on it...
That's where Limewire has it's loophole. The actual program itself isn't illegal because it isn't uploading copyrighted files and giving them out for free.
It's the people that are using it for illegal procedures that make people think it's illegal.
You are allowed to share programs, files, music and videos that you have created yourself, or that you have designed, but if it's copyrighted and you don't have the license to it then it's illegal to a) upload it onto the program and b) download it from the program.

I stopped getting music from Limewire, it got really addictive downloading all the time. It was like you were trying to get every song you've ever liked.
I feel super guilty about it now... :[ |

Posts: 259 | August 21st, 2008 at 02:14am I've had LimeWire for.. Oh almost half a year until just a few weeks ago when I switched over to FrostWire, and I never got any virus from it.. Then again, my computer is on super-protection with about 20bil different anti-stuff that makes my computer go floop programs.
I suggest calling Geek Squad or someone else that could help.  Sorry I couldn't be of much assistance. |

Hm, I haven't had any problems, either. Except...Wow. Now that I think about it, I think I have a virus! But my virus detector program thingy hasn't told me anything. But I have had some problems with the Internet. =p |
