So last night(well at 6:00 in the morning today) I shut down my computer. I got up today and turned it on. It's a window's vista operating system. It showed a black screen with like a list of ways to start the computer and I chose "start windows normally" because it has gone to that screen before.
So I log in and it basically logs into this whole new account. There is a message in the corner that said something like "The account could not load - this is a temporary account. No changes you make will be saved"
All my files - music, pictures, and documents aren't showing, but when I go to the C drive it still shows that the space is being taken up by something.

Does anyone know what happened? :\

This happens to the school computers all the time.
When that message comes up, restart your computer and let it reload everything.
See if that works.

Wow.
I got that black screen too once, and I flipped - because I love them way too much - but it was all okay. Cute

I hope yours is okay soon.

I have a few suggestions:

Like Chemically already said, try restarting it.
Run your virus scanner.
Get the Vista Service Pack 2 if you haven't already.

Black screens aren't much to worry about. Now, if you get a blue screen then you need to worry.

Yep, restart. Run virus scanner. =] since i don't have windows vista but i wish i had one, this probably won't help much. i have a question, though. have you downloaded any other software that might contain some viruses? or maybe the disk drive or something like that? it could be a virus or your computer needs some upgrading. =] how this helps..
