Not that animal cruelty isn't deplorable, but I see so much anger at the death of one animal, yet we don't have pages and pages of threads filled with anger at the humanitarian catastrophe that is war. |

I'm sure if someone made a thread for those topics there's be pages and pages of the same thing 
I think it's just down to that someone was filming it and the video got out. People hear about soldiers doing horrific things but when you actually see something like this and hearing the man laugh just shocks you.
The image of the man just throwing that little puppy over like it was a toy or something just really hit people I think [not that the idea of soldiers raping women and the like don't shock people too]. |

Yes, but it's the way it's fed to them.
They believe their fighting for freedom and the safty of their loved ones.
You would join the army with the intention of fighting for the freedom of your country, for the safety of loved ones etc. What your country chooses to do with your services is beyond your control. If George W. Bush decides he wants to go to Iraq and find oil (if that is indeed the case, it's kind of hard to proove either way) and he wants to say that the army is invading Iraq to help it regain it's freedom then that's what the soldiers do. In the army you get told what to do and you do it. That's just how it works. You don't really get to fight for what you believe in all the time, the person in charge decides what's worth fighting for and you, as a soldier, go along with it.
It's not fair to put down all the soldiers that have fought for and died for your country just because your president made some bad decisions and used the army to put them into action. Think of the soldiers that have died in Iraq, if he saw the people here saying that they were heartless because they're soldiers it would break their hearts. The soldiers are not the ones to blame, it's the politicians. |

My point is : you don't have to be an US soldier to kill a puppy.
I'm far from being pro-American, but seriously you guys this is just really stupid bad publicity, the real issues in Iraq don't involve puppies. [Plus the puppy doesn't even look real]
She could get in HUGE trouble for that. It's MURDER! If you couldn't take care of them, fine, either try to give them to friends or a local animal shelter.
It's so disturbing to think people can do these types of things! |
