I don't have a clue what's caused this, I only know the effects. Which are.
- Occasionally myspace will duplicate the browser window, so in the end you have a million odd myspace windows open.
- The laptop is running seriously slow
- Other effects of minor virus/spyware.
I'm pretty good with computers, so I know how to fix it, and I have other ways around it without wiping the laptop.
I'm just wondering if you've had any experiences with this, and if you know what caused it, so I can slap Andrew and tell him what not to do! |

Ever seen those ads in people's comments on Myspace which are like "Click here for the Myspace Tracker!!" or "click here to buy this Gift Card!!!"? They're all links to virus-y pages (or they're phishing scams), so perhaps your brother clicked on one of those and let a virus in? That's the first thing I thought of... |

Because alot of the time anything that you download sometimes have viruses attatched to the file. |

I find it strange that it only happens when MySpace is open and it only duplicates the MySpace window.
I'm thinking it might be an app, because there was a bulletin going round warning you about it, but I thought scam at first, but after reading it, I realised that it is possible. So d'ya think it might be a dodgey app he installed, and has now installed a temp file or something with a virus? |

Try filtering your temporary files to make sure it gets deleted. If it's not a virus and is only the application, it shouldn't be too hard to get rid of.

Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 884 | August 27th, 2008 at 10:50pm This happens to me, too! I'll open up a window, and then all of a sudden there are like 40 duplicates popping open, and their MySpace song is playing 40 different times, nonsimultaneously. It's horrible.
When it happens, I usually press Alt + F4 to control it, and then just do the whole Ctrl + Alt + Delete thing. It helps.
Also, I think it only happens when you open something in a new window, but not when you use tabs... |
