If you look closely at the end when they are on the ferris wheel, The camera looks out to the sea for a short while and you can see something move in the water. It's quite interesting actually.

OO I REMEMBER THAT.

Apparently a satalite (Think I heard that from this thread . . .)

I was slightly disappointed at the monster itself though. I was hoping it was some goverment related coverup. Though it was portrayed very well.

I found this movie incredibly stupid. The whole movie:

"AHHHH RUN!"
"BUT WE HAVE TO GO GET (insert whatever her name was here)"
"OK!"
"AHHHHHHH! WTH WAS THAT?!"

*is dead*

Plus, the monster = lameee.
the feedback was an incredibly good idea, everything else just bombed.

I really liked Cloverfield. The way it was filmed was an added bonus because it made me feel like I was actually there, and plus it added to the suspense factor because you only saw what Hud saw. So if something were to creep up behind him, you would have no idea until he turned around and it would kind of be an "OH SHIT!" type moment.

I also liked how they didn't explain every little thing to us. Coming from someone who watches a lot of horror movies, it's refreshing to watch a movie and be able to put your own input into it. Besides, like someone mentioned, if they had ventured to explain the monster, I agree it would have probably been really cheesy. For example someone mentioned that they were disappointed that the monster wasn't a government coverup type thing. If that would have been the explanation in the movie I would've rolled my eyes and shouted obscenities at the screen. So the fact that the movie leaves you to wonder is good, in my book.

I agree, sometimes it works better when you don't know everything that's going on. That's one of the reasons I liked this movie and others like it (George Romero's 'Living Dead' series for example), it leaves you thinking 'why is this happening?'
