criticalxconscience Writer's Block Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 82	May 19th, 2008 at 10:45pm According to Wikipedia: "Piano rock, sometimes referred to as piano pop, is a term for a style of rock music that is based around the piano, and sometimes around piano-related instruments, such as the Fender Rhodes, the Wurlitzer electric piano, and keyboard-based synthesizers, rather than the guitar as is the case with traditional rock music." Some piano rock bands include (but are not limited to): Something Corporate, Jacks Mannequin, The Hush Sound, and the Rocket Summer. Love it? Hate it? Want to talk about it? Chat here!

I just love most music with a piano in it. Even if they're not to the genre of Piano rock, I love all the Envy On The Coast tracks where Sal does this thing on the keys :]

Envy of the Coast has songs with piano parts to them? :O Come to think of it, Hellogoodbye and Forever the Sickest Kids have keyboardists. Not piano rock, but keyboards are kind of like pianos.

flyingstairs -- Writer's Block Age: 15 Gender: Female Posts: 11	August 7th, 2008 at 08:45am i fcking love this genre. most bands just have a guitar, bass, and drums, so it's like amazing when there's a piano in the picture. and the hush sound blows my mind. ahaha. so does something corporate. listened to a jack's mannequin song once but never noticed a piano? omg i have to find it again.... haven't listened to the rocket summer but will definitely start.
