Title: Story of a Girl

Summary:

Amanda Rose Perchkins is only nineteen, with twenty-four year old fiancé. Her parents died when she was only three, and her brother, Ryan, took care of her until she was eleven. Then, he sent her into foster care, and hasn't spoken to her since. It seems as though he's abandoned her, and in a way, he has. But she doesn't know that he's been trying to get a hold of her since she was sixteen, only to be told that she didn't want to talk to him. Little did they know, it was Jared that was keeping the two apart.

In the beginning, things were perfect between Amanda and Jared. He was sweet, attentive, caring, faithful, and she thought that he couldn't be more perfect. But, things change. Jared changed. Now, he keeps Amanda isolated from all her former friends, won't let her leave the house unless accompanied by him, and forces her to sleep on a mat in the corner of the room, with nothing to keep warm. He began raping, beating, and rationing her diet since about a year ago. She isn't even allowed to speak unless asked a question. Things have just gotten out of hand, and what makes it worse is the fact that Amanda fears for her life too much to stand up to the psychopath that she used to be in love with. Though, all she would have to do to convince people that he was abusive would be to walk out of the house. She's covered in bruises from head to toe, all ranging from the newest, blackest bruises, to the ones that are a faded yellow from their vain attempt at healing.

But, when Jared gets a new job, leading him to have a few co-workers come over for Friday Night Poker, someone sees Amanda in the battered appearance that she can't seem to escape. Though she is ordered to stay in their bedroom until they leave, that doesn't stop the compassionate James Doyle from hearing her cries, going to her aid only to be shocked at what he finds his co-worker capable of. Can James bring a light to the end of this seemingly endless tunnel?

The only thing I write on Mibba is original fiction.

Kinda weird advertising on here, but for stories, Mibbians have said that He Comes in Peace is pretty good; Thirty-three chapters so far.

I'm still chipping away at the plot. It's a bit alternate reality, sci-fi, but not in a complete Star Trek way. It takes place on Earth.

He held a tiny ornate lighter in his hand, flicking the top up and down, and he watched the flame dance in the wind. That’s how he got his name: Flame Boy. He was forever fiddling with matches and gasoline, and would spend hours down by the beach with an empty can of lighter fluid and a bundle of charred logs. His hands and arms bore the signs of his obsession, half-healed welts and burns would become infected and start oozing pus that dripped from his elbows.

Just Before Dawn

Summary:
While taking a walk in the woods to escape her nagging mother Laura wanders off the original path and onto an unfamiliar one. She ends up finding what looks to be a deserted cottage but after inspection she finds a man in the bedroom. He ends up catching up to her outside the house and captures her. After given a choice she chooses to stay with him in his cottage and after all the obstacles that are thrown at her she finds herself falling in love with the man that needs her the most even if he doesn't realize it yet.

And as I walk down these intricate system of tunnels, the cool air pouring out the vents and bristling the hairs on the back of my neck, the only thing I can think of is that Hispanic woman, the one who sat with me and taught me my first second language. I can see her deep brown eyes and plump little face staring down at me and spitting out her ancient words of wisdom. These particular words said to deter me from childlike malice and my mischievous ways:
