- Choke is a 2008 black comedy film directed by Clark Gregg. The film stars Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston. Production took place in New Jersey in 2007. It premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was purchased by Fox Searchlight Pictures for distribution. The film was released on September 26, 2008 and the DVD was released on February 17, 2009.
The film is based on the 2001 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. It tells the story of a man who works in a colonial theme park, attends sexual addiction recovery workshops, and at nights pretends to choke on food in upscale restaurants so his "rescuers" would pay him out of sympathy and thus cover his mother's Alzheimer's disease hospital bills.
I was a bit apprehensive about watching it at first, because I loved the book alot, but the more I saw of it, the more I liked it. Have you seen it? What did you think? |

Age: 16 Gender: Male Points: 100 | November 7th, 2009 at 12:11pm I haven't seen it yet, they didn't even release it in cinemas or anything over here. I'm probably going to order it online.
How much of the book did they change? |

Age: 83 Gender: Female Points: 150 | November 8th, 2009 at 03:24am I saw part of it, but then my itunes froze. It was awesome to the part where I watched it. I really liked the plot of it, and the characters.
I never knew that there was a book, now that you mentioned it (in the first post) I really want to read it. x] |

Age: - Gender: Female Points: 100 | November 8th, 2009 at 06:20am I've been very hesitant to watch the movie because a friend of mine (who was a great fan of the book and has similar taste in movies as I do) said that it wasn't worth the price. He said that the movie changed the ending and didn't do a very good job at keeping to the book at all. If this is incorrect information please let me know so maybe I will be more apt to give the movie a chance. |

Age: 16 Gender: Male Points: 100 | November 8th, 2009 at 11:12am ^ It changed the ending?! But... the ending was practically the entire point, the whole film is just... what. There wasn't even any need to change it. |

Age: 20 Gender: Female Points: 100 | November 9th, 2009 at 05:28pm It wasn't so changed that it was unbearable. I was watching the extras ['cos I'm cool like that ] and Chuck was saying how the director could make the movie as long as the ending wasn't changed. From what I can remember, it ended with Victor and the doctor in an airplane bathroom |
