Mutant
So this is a blog where I will put forth my thoughts on random things that pop into my life somehow.
So first off, I want to congratulate Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on the birth of their baby Bronx Mowgli Wentz on Thursday. I wish you both the best of luck!
Second, I finally got to listen to the much-anticipated Guns 'N' Roses album, after ten some years, and I must say that it is...amateur at best. Definitely not worth the wait. I'm not even a fan of Guns 'N' Roses but they have done much better.
On the topic of new CD's, well, newish, William Control released an album on October 28th and it was darkly beautiful. Not because it is wiL Francis from Aiden, but because it was one of the best "darkwave" albums I have heard. The single case says it best, "psycho-sexual". Kudos wiL.
I saw Twilight today and I must say that it was great, and not just because it was Twilight. I've been an open critic of Stephenie Meyer's writing style and characterizations but the movie was phenomenal.
When we left the 11:30 showing of Twilight there was a long line of people waiting outside the theater which leads me onto my next topic: Twilight tweenies. Tweenies in generally have always been a pet peeve of mine but these ones were insane. Twilight was good, but Stephenie Meyer is not God. Her books are good, I'm reading The Host and so far it's fantastic, and I'm all for Team Edward, but as far as I'm concerned, Anne Rice is still the raining queen of vampire novels.
Continuing on the topic of Twilight, the cast was absolutely immaculately chosen but I would like to pay particular attention to the main man, Edward Cullen aka Robert Pattinson. I wasn't apprehensive in the least when I found out he would be playing Edward, when I saw him in the films Vanity Fair, Ring Of The Nibelungs, How To Be, and then in Harry Potter, I knew he would be amazing and I was proven right. For those of you who don't know, Robert played Cedric Diggori in the last two Harry Potter films.
Speaking of great transitions, Harry Potter Six: The Half-Blood Prince. I saw a preview for it in the theater today and I must say, it looks good. But aren't all of the Harry Potter movies?
And lastly, the YouTube born phenomenon: My 50 Things.
