Rant; Goths Are Generally Friendlier Than Emos
Warning; The sky is blue due to physics.
Goths (Yes, unlike emos, they don't mind being called what they are. Actually, if someone called me an emo, I'd be pretty offended because most emos are wankers.), I find are generally lovely people. One of my best friends is a goth and she's awesome, but as my friend I have a biased opinion, however, we went to see her boyfriend and his mates and they were either a riot, or really lovely.
Emos, on the other hand are idiots. I don't know about you but I'm getting pretty sick of them. They're whiny and annoying and most of them are hippocrites. They stick with the latest trends and even though they say they're outcasts, they only like what they deem to be cool.
Things emos deem to be cool are in fact, quite stupid. The first one is pretending to be into things like Batman. Yes, The Dark Knight was good and yes, there are a lot of fans but why do you have to bother proving to people you don't even know (I'm referring to Mibba profiles) that you liked Batman before it was cool. You probably sort of liked it a bit but you weren't this obsessed and you probably always wanted Batman to beat the Joker like all the other kids. Don't try and tell me that you liked it before it was cool. This is just you trying to be an outcast. It reminds me of a Frank Iero quote (yes, I know but it really is related to the point), "I was uncool before being uncool was cool." Seriously though, being uncool is cool now. It's stupid.
Do you know what else annoys me about emos? I know that if I walked up to a couple of emos with a friend and started talking to them, they'd either laugh at me or think I was weird (which is a bit rich). However, if the other day I walked up to two goths with my friend to talk to them (we'd overheard a conversation they were having that was interesting) and they were very pleasant. We were making social pleasantries and talking about how global warming should hurry it's ass up.
In conclusion, some emos are actually really nice people but the majority of them get on my last nerve. Emo was always a stupid fad and now everyone but the hardcore followers are getting over it or a bit sick of it and it's time for it to politely go and die.
[Opinions are welcome, no deliberate wrong spelling misatkes please and if your opinion vastly contrasts my own, please make sure it's an argument not a torrent of abuse and make sure it is reasonable.]

Okay Yeah! A person agrees with me! It tis true, Goth peoples are more fun, I was shopping and one stopped me because i was talking about Avenged sevenfold. That was fun. But if you walk in the mall there is a sh!t load of emos and it tis annoying....I'm considered 'emo' at school and it pisses me off just because i went suicidal for a while...a$s wipes
[i know that probably didn't make sense...sorry I ramble]

I once warned an emo that there was a boy with a water bottle chucking things at anyone who walked past in black lipstick. Cos, you know, she was wearing black lipstick, and it seemed polite to warn her...
She told me to f*ck off.
The thing I don't understand, is that I was wearing black lipstick...
Issues, methinks.
I'm stalking your journals. It's any easy way to kill the time until my parents go out and I can eat their chocolate and blame it on my sister XD

The only good thing I've found in 'emo people' is when I need a picture of someone with black hair I can type 'emo' into photobucket and get a picture of someone with black hair. I was emo for maybe one tenth of a second then I was very over it. Now I'm just me. Oh the cliche in my last sentence... I agree with Miss Ann Thrope. I like to shock people. So I agree.

I think that 'emos' are more convinced that everybody hates them just for being alive, and therefore have to act like a total d*ck to everyone around them, just to show how little they care about what everyone (doesn't really) think about them.
Furthermore, even though they don't care, they have to go out of their way to show you how 'real' they really are about things; how they're an individual, even though they like everything every other emo/scene kid does, they just liked it first, so it's totally okay.
I'm still considered uncool, even though being uncool is cool right now..what does that mean? >_>

I had a friend who was goth. She was awesome. We were pretty much inseperable until I moved. Inseperable meaning, she actually convinced her parents to move into the same apartment complex as me.
I also liked a guy who called himself emo. He was a manwhore. He got me to like him by calling me cute and stuff. Making me think he liked me, but actually didn't. I like hate him now.

I should be so cool because I'm so "uncool" right now, but I'm not.
It's weird how that works, huh?

Goths are friendlier. I've got to agree with you there and that list bit of what Wishing.For.Wings said.
Audrey T., November 24th, 2008 at 10:35:11pm
I definitely agree!
My goth friends are so much more accepting of people and like everyone... well, everyone except emos XD.

I think I love you 8D

Your title confused me. Is it supposed to be the other way around? o_O
Anyway, I agree with this journal. I think it's because it's in the emo nature (lifestyle?) to be surly and mean, and not to mention whiny. It sort of comes along with the fashion, I guess. Got on the other hand really isn't meant to look tough, but just to portray something different. Sort of a shock value with dyed hair, dark clothing, etc.

i agree
even though some goths are b*tches it depends on the person not the label
but the majority of emos are more b*tchier than goths.
ThingFromMyHeart, November 24th, 2008 at 10:04:35pm
I f*cking hate emos -____-
I agree with this journal, emo's like to consider themselves "outcasts" but they just follow trends and look down on you if you don't follow them. Sorry I'm not 'emo' enough for you! *eyeroll*
No person in their right mind would want to be considered an 'emo' =]
