Some People Don't Really Understand About Deaf Culture

December 2, 2008

Millions of hearing impaired people feels low in their hearts because they all experience through their lives with their families who speak without sign languages. Their lives are getting invisible sometimes. Even though they all want small attentions from their families. Now and then they only wish to speak out loud for everyone to pay attention to them about how they feel. A small attention is not even enough for everyone to listen.

The truth is that some people are telling negatives about how deaf people act with their sign languages. Retard, stupid, dumb, mute, and etc are the words that crash them down in their chests. It’s insulting them, huh? Hearing impaired people are just regular like you hearing people. Oh, come on! You should understand what they are doing. It doesn’t matter how they make their own expressions on their face at the same time as they are signing. It’s the way they do in their deaf culture. Many citizens don’t actually respect theirs. It’s not really fair because some of them totally respect your voices, your actions without using sign languages, and your worlds.

All of the times, I am feeling hurt. I always hang out with my best friends and others who understands how I am feeling this way because they’re hearing impaired. Every day, I always hang out with them because I get very comfortable with them. I can talk to them with my expressions. It’s really easy for me to chat with them in any time.

I know it is not fair but it’s true. It doesn’t mean that I really hate hearing people. Truly, we’re all equal. It’s just the way we do. Sometimes we wish for our hearing families to sign better than speaking with their voices.
