Marianas Trench Concert - Pics Included!

On the weekend I got to go and see my favourite band, Marianas Trench. It was so amazing! They're so wicked live, and they're seriously the sweetest guys I've ever met. Even though I only met three out of four. Ian, the drummer, was very sick with the flu, so I was incredibly impressed with him because he still played a kickass show. He just went straight to the bathroom after...

And who has ever seen a headlining band selling their own merch at a show? Matt and Mike, the guitarist and bassist, respectively, were selling merch before the show. It was seriously the coolest thing.

Anyways, here's a couple performance pics. I got lots, but these ones are the best.

Ian. Yes, I know this pic sucks, but it was almost impossible to get a picture of him. There were no lights on him whatsoever, but I think it was just so that he wouldn't get too hot and get sick again.

And then they told us that they were going to hang out and meet us, but we got kicked out of the club. Wouldn't it make sense to let them stay inside so that they could still sell liquor? That's what I thought, but they kicked everyone out. So, being the completely amazing guys that they are, they stood outside on the sidewalk to meet us. How amazing is that?! But the security guards were assholes. They wouldn't let us anywhere near the guys. Josh kept apologizing, and he tried to give a girl a hug and the security guard yelled at him and pulled him away. And they obviously weren't working for the band, because someone asked where Ian was, and the security guard said, "Ian? Who's Ian? Is he one of these guys?" And if they were working for the band, they would know that the guys always get pictures with their fans and take the time to talk to them. But I got a few pictures outside.

So I got to meet Josh, Mike, and Matt, and I had conversations with Matt and Josh. They were so cool and down to earth, and honestly they were grateful for each and every fan.

This is a painting that Taylor, the friend I brought with me, made for me a few years ago when their first album, Fix Me, dropped and I told her that they were my favourite band. Matt, Mike, and Josh all signed it, and they all told me how cool it was. So, since Taylor was too star-struck to say a word, I told them that she made it.

Next time I'm going to have to meet Ian and get him to sign my stuff, even though I'm a little hesitant to take the painting back out of its frame. It got a bit of a rip in it while I was moshing.

Seriously, I think this was the highlight of my life thus far.
