Is it normal for your best friend to bring you down all the time?
There's this girl, she's my best friend.
We've been best friends for about three years now, and we've both changed style wise. Whenever I put a new picture up on myspace or facebook, she always has something to say about it.
My most recent picture (the one on my mibba profile) she commented it. "You look um.. emo. Congrats :)"
Thanks.
I wanted to say something back because she wears her make-up like me, she wears the type of clothes of me, she almost has the same hair style as me, except the color.
Every time she gets a new picture, I always say something positive. Always. Never have I commented it with something negative or something that would bring her down.
I would talk to her about this, but I don't like talking to her about things because she overreacts and makes me the bad guy.
She pisses me off a lot.
I'm insecure and have a low self-esteem because of her.
I don't know what to do.
I'm confused.
Sometimes I wonder why I call her my best friend.

awww
I have a friend exactly like that
I've known her for 5 years now
She even got toher people doing it
People that i thought were my friends too
but I told her how it made me feel
that she was prt of the reason of my depression swings
Shes trying to make herelf better
just tell her how it makes you feel
If tht doesn't work
Then stop being friends with her

She ain't being a real friend if she's dissing you. She's just saying that stuff to bring you down so she feels like she's higher than you.
Happens at my school ALL the TIME.

You do not look emo! You look adorable! I love your hair.
I know exactly how you feel, a lot of my "friends" do the same exact thing. I wish I knew how to help.

I had a best friend like that, I told him about how he was hurting me and he just ignored it.
I got rid of him for a couple of months, and now we're friends but now as close as we used to be. He quit saying the rude stuff he was saying to me though.
Maybe you should try confronting her about that?
Tell her how you feel when she does that.
If that doesn't work, then she's not worth it.
Good luck.
By the way, just try ignoring the things she says, your opinion is the only one that should matter. (:

No I don't think your best friend should be bring you down. Too bad you can't talk to her. I guess you'll have to ignore her when she does stuff like that.
By the way, you're adorable.

No, that is totally wrong on her part. I know what it's like though, I ignore it though. My best friend is like that at times. I'm just like, 'phew someone has confidence issues.'
Anyway, I adore your hair. D8

Well, no… She really shouldn’t say those things so you. =/ And I know how it feels to want to say something… but can’t because it usually turns back to bite. I hope things get better somehow. Maybe she just says that kind of stuff because she’s insecure about herself in some way? I don’t know.

I feel the same way you to. Insecure and am loosing my self-confidence. Well, all my friends call me emo when I am wearing make-up. Yet they were it heavier than me.
Feel free to talk to me, I understand. I wonder the same thing on why I call my friends at all. My closest friend...is well, still my closest friend, but sometimes I wonder.
