Really?!?!?

Have you ever felt like you've been slapped in the face when you hear about or read something? Well thats how I felt when I heard about Dan Choi. He is a Lt. in the US army, he went to West Point, is an Iraq war veteran and a valuble translater. He has been in the army for five years. And now he is being discharged. Why? Because he is gay. No wait, scratch that, because he admitted to being gay. The army has a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy when it comes to sexuality. Which basically means you can serve your country as long as you keep your mouth shut and hide your true feelings. So when he openly said he was gay, he got a letter saying he was kicked out of the army in a month's time. This man put his life on the line for others, protected the rights of people he doesn't even know and fought in a war that, I believe, shouldn't be happening. And now they are taking away his career. I honestly feel like slapping the army right now, I really don't care if they can shoot me and what not. This is completely unacceptable, in my opinion. Homophobia is one of the most vile forms of hate there is, also my opionion (sorry homophobes...oh yeah, and fuck you). Honeslty aren't you over it yet? most people believe that the policy is wrong and that being gay, lesbien, bisexual, transexual, ect. is completely fine and yet our army is still homophobic. Guess what, the army serves the people, and people are gay, they're also straight and bi, and black and white, and Jewish and Catholic, and everything else there is to be. We are everything. Shouldn't our army be the same way?
